France Invades Stormchaser...
Day 1:
Left at 8:30 to get to the bus in Middletown. Bus ride hit mega traffic, but our bus driver was a pro and took every shortcut he knew to get us around it. Right by both stadiums in the Bronx. Got to Newark 4 hours early(doh). Hung out in the Groups lounge and began puking. Puked on the plane for 7 hours while trying to sleep on the bathroom floor. Arrived in Geneva at 6:00 and were loaded up and on the bus for Val Thorens. Puked for the whole 3 hour bus ride in the barf bags I lifted from the plane. Took an hour or so to get checked in but was finally able to lay down and take a nap. 5 hours of sleep and I'm back in action. Dinner in an hour. No pics today. Y'all don't want to see my vomit shots...

Re: France Invades Stormchaser...

Day 2:
Got on the lifts around 1015-1030ish with massive hangovers. Skied in the r*in, sleet, and snow most of the morning. Got a little powder up high on the Fond Funitel. Had lunch in the brief sunlight we had today. Lots of gluey snow down low, off piste was.....interesting. Skied to the bell, having hair of the dog now.
BTW, hit probably 7 bars last night, Rusty and I were scouting

Re: France Invades Stormchaser...
Not that I ever post here, but I just had to post in this thread....
You should have been there last week! We just got back from Courchevel (literally about an hour ago). It was sunny all week, with spring conditions down low, mid winter packed powder up high (at least off the major trails, on the major trails it was snow report "packed powder"). It was an awesome week.

Re: France Invades Stormchaser...
Day 3:
A coup is brewing deep in the mountains of France, and the revolution has gained mighty strength. Stormchaser and fearless crew waged a surprising victory today, reaping the fresh powder that fell above 8,000' last night. Not super deep, but a pure mind, strong stomach, strong legs, and strong lungs allowed the rebels to slay the mountains that had beaten them down on Days One and Two. They only lost two soldiers in a heart felt and strenuous day long battle. The names will remain unspoken, to respect their honor. One man couldn't muster the courage today to slay the white powder beast, the battles from yesterday forcing him into lighter duty. The other fell to exhaustion as he slayed countless snow fields and chutes with no regard for his own well being. And yet, one lone soldier refused to give in, despite the battle already being decided. A true skier he is.

My guess is that it was the younger one in the group who had the stamina.Stormchaser wrote:A coup is brewing deep in the mountains of France, and the revolution has gained mighty strength. Younger alas, but perhaps more foolish and less wise...

Re: France Invades Stormchaser...
I'll admit, I'm the soldier down today with a definite case of altitude sickness (shortness of breath and elevated heart rate at rest, lethargic, nausea, etc). Never happened to me before and it sucks! At least I had a really good day in the pow yesterday before it hit around 2pm-ish.
Here's a few teaser pics:
Mtn Man likes it up here! Valley clouded in with fresh powder at 10200ft

Cody gets fresh in the steeps.

Rusty sinks in for turns.

Stormchaser digs in.

Where's the trail??? At this point, we were totally lost....I hear it happens quite often at Val Thorens....

Time to chill at club360, this place rocked!

The rest of the crew is enjoying a bluebird day today, I'm sure the pics will be spectacular!
