triple bag is a poor example of a tripel and is ridiculously sweet unless you like sugar in your beer, I forget whether it's filtered orr not like some of the other lame ass excuses for tripels, but it probably is.

Most Long Trail beer sucks.

Huh? When did LT ever market this beer as a tripel?

Double bag is a Sticke - a strong altbier - Triple bag is more likely a dopplesticke.

And adding sugar to beer (before fermentation) does not make it sweeter, in fact, it does the opposite since sugar is fully fermentable.

ANYTHING by the Alchemist utterly destroys those listed in the poll. Perhaps the only brewery in VT worthy of export to other states, but of course it isn't.

The guy at Flatbread can brew too - and Shaun e. Hill (formerly of the Shed) started his own brewery recently- and good reports of Lawson's Finest too. I really need to check out Trapp's - the new lager brewery up at Stowe.

Its kind of funny that McNeill's has fallen off the map in the last 10 years as far as quality is considered, but I still run into many VT'ers living in the past who still think they brew the best beer in VT and have never heard of The Alchemist.

Yeah, Boozy is pretty good. Up there with the best I've ever skied with.
