How does that work then? If you make the top 16 you are out of the age competition? What are the age groups anyway?shortski wrote:Afraid not, someone you know turned 50 , if he enters he'll take first in age catogory for sure, only hope is he places in the top sixteen and makes the finals which puts him out of the age competition.skiadikt wrote:wonder if shortski is entering this year. he should win his age group.

25th Annual Bear Mountain Mogul Challenge, Presented By Budweiser

The first Bear Mountain Mogul Challenge may have been where day-glo was born. This event has changed people's lives.
We've been sending 200 of the best amateur bump skiers around down a couple hundred yards worth of teeth-grinding bumps on Outer Limits for 25 years -- at least after this April 2nd and 3rd it'll be 25 years.

Teeth-grinding bumps aside, it's the party that makes this event go 'round and this is a party you don't want to miss. The Budweiser Concert Series at Killington will be in full effect, featuring not one, not two, not three, but four bands on Saturday (Sandhill Band, Bloomer duo, Silent Groove and Five Wise) as well as Jeffrey Gaines and Big Fuzz featuring members of Deep Banana Blackout on Sunday.
The 25th Annual Bear Mountain Mogul Challenge competition, party and all are brought to you by our good friends at Budweiser.
The other soon-to-be legend we've got lined up at Bear Mountain this spring is the inaugural Spring Fest on April 9th and 10th. Catchy name, huh?
We're taking the 12th Annual Spring Loaded Snowboard event and building around it. The Spring Loaded event lineup includes a Superpipe Jam as well as a Slopestyle competition. This year we're going further...
Saturday night 4/9 -- Night time Rail Jam under the lights at Bear Mountain
Sunday 4/10 -- Budweiser and Killington present Little Feat as part of the Budweiser Concert Series.
There's also a rumor that several ex-cast members of MTV's The Real World and Road Rules may be on-hand for that weekend. Stay tuned for more info.

25th Annual Bear Mountain Mogul Challenge, Presented By Budweiser
Event type: Public Competition
Date: April 02, 2005 - April 03, 2005
Time: All Day
Location: Bear Mountain
Registration is open.
Outer Limits, the steepest mogul slope in eastern North America, covering 1,200 feet of vertical in a half a mile, has also played home to Olympic Champion Donna Weinbrecht, and 2002 Olympic team members Hannah Hardaway and Evan Dybvig. Each year 200 amateur bumpers line up to show their stuff in this inaugural spring event, while spectators relax in the sun at the bottom of the trail on lawn chairs and sofas with barbecue grills and coolers in tow, ready to officially celebrate the rites of spring skiing. (Yes, there`s even a cook-off in the crowd too, complete with trophies.)
Skiers tackle Outer Limits in seven different age categories for both men and women. Skiers are judged on turns and line (50%), air (25%) and speed (25%). Starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday, competitors each get one run. The top 32 men and 16 women will return to compete in a dual format on Sunday starting at 11 a.m. Pairs of competitors run a dual course with sudden death format; only the winners remain. Awards are presented to the first, second, third, and fourth place finishes for both men and women. These winners` names are engraved on the Bear Mountain Mogul Challenge trophy.
This year the event will be even more special than in years past as we celebrate the Silver Anniversary of the event. On Saturday music will start at noon and feature Sandhill Band, Bloomer Duo, Silent Groove and Five Wise. Return to Bear Mountain on Sunday for the finals and for live outdoor music in the afternoon by Jeffrey Gaines and Big Fuzz, featuring members of Deep Banana Blackout. All music is part of the Budweiser Concert Series.
