Okemo is consistent because it's flat as a pancake - Killington spruces up Bloodshed and Ramshead very well - but try cleaning up Vertigo, Cascade, or East Flop after some r*in - totally different operation.

For a deep and steep skier or rider yes Okemo is not the place I agree, but I would more compare Okemo to Snowdon and Glades area. The Okemo clientele like what they have just a much as the K clientele like what they offer. Okemo can give back a product quicker than K. You would think the K could rebound faster with their snowmaking and grooming fire power they have. It just seems like they stumble a lot when a thaw / freeze cycle hits them. You would think they would have a plan to combat it by now. I've enjoyed both areas over the years and will continue.

Not sure if it's relevant but last weekend was a wicked inversion with the temp 50 at elevation and 30's in low lying areas. It's possible that ski areas at lower elevations might not have been hit as hard. There seems to be a lot more snow in the woods and in people's yards down by Ludlow.

Early morning turns were made on 2 to 4 inches of fresh. Mrs. G posted elsewhere about the trees being fully covered about half way up to the peak. Groomers were in very good shape but early grooms once the fresh was piled up or pushed out was a bit firm. Dusting this morning at the Rutvegas AP.

Would have to wonder why Kilington.com reported 0" of new snow in the past 24 hours when I checked yesterday morning. I thought that was strange.
