Skyeship 1 Closing when?

Does anyone know when they are closing down stage 1?

Normally they shut it down after BMMC.

There is no way it will still be open for the BMMC.

I asked a liftie last week, and he said they are scheduled to close it on March 29th.
Every year they will usually say that the scheduled date is tentative, depending on demand. But they rarely do keep it open later.

So March 29th is probably a pretty good bet.

It used to be open for BMMC when there was a lot of people there.

Since they screwed it up the crowds have obviously been smaller and they had no need for it.

Remember when you couldn't get into the Bear lot and the parking was on both sides of the road almost to east Mt. Road.

Nope, times and most importantly people change.

Wonder if it would have continued as it was or would the gradual disappearance of ski houses have been it's downfall anyways.

SkyeShip base sure has a lot of melting happening. I'd say that 3/29 date is fair.

The base area may be all dirt at the end, but hopefully GE will remain skiable till the end of the month.
They usually can re-carpet it each night, even if it gets slushy and you start to see dirt patches by the end of each ski day.
We'll see. It sure does melt fast.
