Re: Nyberg Fired!
Kudos to Chris for showing us Nyberg's Killington where
- Extra personal were freed from their binds of employment.
- Old under utilized chairs are removed.
- Skiers legs are saved with a shorter season.
- The Bear Mountain Mogul Challenge was reformatted.
Remember those good old years fondly.

"With the efforts of some amazing Vermonters we rebuilt this iconic resort and brought it back to it's rightful position as the Beast of the East. Mountain Operation teams and the Hospitality group should be commended in particular!"
sorry (actually NOT sorry) chris, you did your beast to bury the beast. it wasn't until you left, did it get brought back to it's rightful position.
while i'm sure he deserves it, hope they're not thinking of moving mike upstairs.

And here I thought Mike and Jeff returned The Beast to its former glory. Must have missed that part from Chris' tenure.Bubba wrote:Read the comments about his tenure at Killington. What a joke!skibikeclimbguy wrote:According to Linkedin, he's "considering opportunities".

Mt Bachelor is looking for lifties and snowmakers.
That fully leverages his skillset.
Based on his Linked-In profile, he may want to consider buying a collared shirt.

Re: Nyberg Fired!
With the loss of PCMR, the net value of POWDR resorts shank considerably. Chris was probably drawing down a pretty good salary, now with considerably less responsibility. Thus from a purely business aspect terminating him makes sense. Additionally, one has to assume that POWDR's access to capital via private equity lines has pretty well evaporated with the Park City debacle, and it may well be that they didn't intend to continue growing the ski resort side of the business anyway. Why keep around a high paid executive for the existing portfolio? Furthermore, assuming POWDR is already highly leveraged, further expansion may well have to come by selling existing assets. Bottom line: they've let go the person managing all the resorts, and have not announced a replacement, all of this begs the question: are they intending to further shrink that side of the business in order to grow elsewhere?
Re: Nyberg Fired!
I see a job post up for his position on the Powder website:
