I really find it hard to accept that people in a nation of immigrants not necessarily refugees, who's main goal was to assimilate and become an american...I'm not seeing any desire to assimilate at all...in fact all over europe it seems they have remained highly segregated and counter to local customs/culture... can harbor such fear and hatred I have neither fear nor hatred I simply have no use for them... I'm also not taking borders into my home for the same reasons...of other potential immigrants; people who risked their lives to escape disaster in their home countries.
Effect of Madhatter's taking borders into his home. Is that what Bubba really wants?madhatter wrote: I'm also not taking borders into my home for the same reasons...

I too am supportive of continued immigration and refugee assistance, but I'm wondering how many refugees from Japan and Germany we invited here during WWII?Bubba wrote: I really find it hard to accept that people in a nation of immigrants can harbor such fear and hatred of other potential immigrants; people who risked their lives to escape disaster in their home countries.
Obviously you are either joking or don't know how badly the US treated Jews trying to flee Germany.Mister Moose wrote:I too am supportive of continued immigration and refugee assistance, but I'm wondering how many refugees from Japan and Germany we invited here during WWII?Bubba wrote: I really find it hard to accept that people in a nation of immigrants can harbor such fear and hatred of other potential immigrants; people who risked their lives to escape disaster in their home countries.
