It's on.

Glad you were very wrong on this one! :D

How long has it been since we've had 4 or 5 feet in March?

One inch down and its starting to come down at 8:30.

Blizzard conditions in the flat lands. Temps in the teens, snow coming down inches / hour and wind kicking into high gear. Too bad we can't push this a bit further North into some mountains.
On a happier note, some of our ski club members are spending the week at Sugarloaf and that is on a collision course with this storm. Sad note, it is the Loaf and wind will play a factor.
Go get some.

Coming down here at K at about an inch an hour. At least 3 so far. TV is saying 18 to 24 total in the mountains. Wind light so far.

12:07 pm 03/14/17--Get your powder gear on skiers and riders, the first big snow storm of March is bearing down on the Beast today into Wednesday. Although forecasted storm totals vary wildly, one thing is for sure - this is a storm you won't want to miss. If you haven't yet made up your powder day excuse, no worries, Dr. Mike has you covered. We started the day with 90 trails open for first tracks and our ski patrol is already excited to start dropping ropes as the snow piles up; please respect all trail closures and only ski and ride on open terrain.

Looks like a whopping 3 inches so far....

Hopefully backside of the storm develops over mountains and the storm keeps going strong into late Wednesday. If it does close to 30" possible. Savor the storm.

I'm at home in the lowlands, and I can't recall ever seeing wind like this here with a snowstorm - snow is sticking to my windows, literally snowing sideways.

Kton may get 30" average, but it's going to be 0" in some spots (ice base) and 60"-100" hard packed drifts or wind loaded in others, some pockets of soft deep snow and overwhelmingly 12"-16" windpacked everywhere. I'm also not sure about the existing base in the woods, if it's intact enough, so be careful.

With the windpack, you may have more fun with narrow powder skis in the 95-100mm range.

I'll be on my 95s. "Worst" case scenario I end up in a 5-foot powder drift, at which point I'll too excited to care what skis I'm on

 Changed along the coast to sleet and then r*in. Just about stopped now. Travel restriction to be dismissed at 5 PM.

On a bright note Burlington, VT has not seen blizzard conditions in over a decade but is in one today with the storm running up to the lake as reported by Weather Channel.
