Groundbreaking Rumor
Anyone else hear the one about groundbreaking on the village taking place this year in the late spring or early summer? Got that from a Grand timeshare holder.

Re: Groundbreaking Rumor
KillingtonZone rumors and WikiLeaks info. Are YUGE and tremendous news sources!
Also, the new batch of KilliLeaks reports just released today on KilliLeaksZone.com contained e-mails from Mike Solimano's Android phone confirming that a new South Ridge lift will be built in the back bowls...in Sochi...

Re: Groundbreaking Rumor
Now that they have their Act 250 approval, they still need to return to the Killington Planning Commission as the next step in the process.

Re: Groundbreaking Rumor
I would expect to see a lodge rehab and some condos before The Village.

I was told the plan is to move the bar so that when you are sitting at it you are looking out the front windows at OL. That will be really nice

Re: Groundbreaking Rumor
While bear lodge surely needs to be done over, a lift over on south ridge would make bear a much better place on the weekends than a lodge replacement.

Re: Groundbreaking Rumor
They won't be breaking ground on anything this Spring at the village site except maybe pothole repairs. I haven't been following the village progress at all but I'd be shocked if they had all the necessary permits (and subsequent law suites settled) by this Spring or any other Spring in this decade. There isn't a more difficult state in the country, permit wise, for commercial construction than VT by a long shot. Besides, does anyone really think that there is a market right now for high end condos and commercial space in a new village at Killington?? Killington's infrastructure and brand has a very long way to go before that market will ever exist. ASC and Nyberg dug a deep hole in that regard.
Don't fly Mr. Bluebird, I'm just walking down the road......

Re: Groundbreaking Rumor
Uhh, maybe you should follow village progress before commenting. The final lawsuit was settled and permits are in process. Jay Peak, Stowe, Mt Snow, etc have all done major construction project as of recent in VT. It may not be easy, but is by no means impossible. There is a huge market for higher end R.E. with access to village and lifts. Stowe is almost sold out of their latest development as well as Loon. Killington has more snowmaking, longer season, more terrain, more uphill lift capacity, 2 gondolas, and MUCH better location relative to NY, CT, RI, MA, etc than Stowe. The village is part of the plan to bring Kton to the next level. The units will sell fine if they are indeed done along with new lodges and amenities.
