Buddy of mine who went to KMS told me it happened once while he was there - he’s 35ish, so around Y2K I’d guess.

So not unprecedented, but pretty damn rare.

I remember a midweek January day maybe 10 to 15 years ago when they closed after an hour or two of operation. Part of the metal roof on the KBL was ripped off. Went to Pico to finish the ski day.

I'm fine with them closing K. They have Pico open, so no problem; as long as they have at least one option, even if it's just one lift-good for them.
