What a difference a day makes. Mother nature helped out with spring conditions at Bear needles eye wintery at top and North ridge areas not bad for a Saturday with only71 trails open. much better than Friday

My ROTD was OL because it had nice soft snow from the get go. I skied it many times until it got too busy at the lifts. The other trails at Bear skied very nicely too. Never skied Needles because I don't remember conditions being good there from yesterday; however, a friend said that Vertigo had soften nicely and was definitely a run to ski. We bypassed Needles and skied off the Superstar pod instead. Superstar was in good shape if you stayed away from the middle. Skied it a few times. Bittersweet had a lot of traffic but I could still find some decent snow. Skylark was skiing good on the left side. Met up with RustyK and SBF and RustyK had on the wrong skis for soft snow so we headed to the Canyon where things were firmer. Lower Cascade was skied off so you were looking for the good snow. Middle Downdraft was skiing firm which RustyK liked. Upper East fall had been groomed but the snow was still nice. East Fall was OK if you went were the snow was. Upper Rime skied well on our way to Snowdon. Bunny Buster had fog so I skied very near to the tree line. Mountain Training still skied nicely. Mouse Trap had skied off areas but also some decent snow. Lower Chute good too. Lower Bunny Buster was OK but there were lots of people on it so you had to find a pathway.

Comming up March 4th I
Hope they don’t shut down the Skyeship Base
My first run tradition is Doing bear trax launch pad and
Great Eastern down to Skyeship Base. Since I don’t come on here much can anyone tell me why isn’t anything open in south ridge??

Vertigo was good even though it was closed? I almost wanted to jump the rope on lower Ovation, looked covered well enough but the ungroomed patches elsewhere were sketchy.

After witnessing Wednesday's meltdown, we were not expecting much, especially given the reports in this forum. Turned out to be a decent day, starting on OL and Sky quad and had good soft turns until the crowds showed up and we jumped up to the canyon quad for endless laps on east fall. Cascade was not ideal as the groomers had broken through the base layer resulting in craters and chunks. One loop on SS and skylark, both were fine as you could easily pick up the lines for soft turns. Fog in and out up top, but very manageable with best snow on Rime being right under the chair. Overall the Mt. ops team made the best out of not having much to work with. We enjoyed the day and pray they start to get some snow as they are using up what they have.

Out later to get the local ski group pic at Needles around 11. SBF met me there too.

Spring had sprung again, so we headed to the top for firmer conditions.

Did some turns with Ty and the club. Nothing in my memory struck me as the run of the day.

OL was good, but went there later to avoid the masses.

Weak Pickle happy and overall energy on the road at night. Called it early.
