I always assumed the drone was from the lift and not the box, but these new ones are almost silent. It is a huge upgrade, after riding boxes all day, I often go home and feel like I have been at a rock concert. Kudos on this move Killington, its a huge upgrade. Maybe Skyship boxes next year(wishful thinking).....
Also, the new flow through the tunnel is interesting, it is almost uphill of the natural trail, its going to be interesting to keep that "S" turn from getting scraped off as it has always been an odd spot to maintain snow control of on an average day.
If you just figured out the hum was from the ancient boxes - you don't get out much do you..........

Newsflash - you're going to notice a difference between the old Slowdon and the new Bubble chair.
Not much, only 126 days last year, but who is counting. :violin

Back on topic. I agree with Seacoaster after riding in a few yesterday. The only thing you have to watch is when the door is closing there is a bell crank at the bottom of the door that can hit your boot. Smooth and quite along with clean windows. lets keep them up and show a little respect to the owner and maybe see the Skyeship get new ones soon.

Because they are new?

Or are you going to dazzle me with you insider knowledge/lift engineering expertise/or former ski resort management experience.

Why don't you write up 3 or 4 paragraphs for us on why they are quieter.

I thought with all of the days "you get out" you would be able to provide such an answer with all of your expertise, of which I frankly have none. I did notice today the new boxes unlike the old ones have vertical struts or large bushings where the H bracket mounts to the cabins. When they come into the bullwheel you can see them absorbing movement. So the old boxes had a rigid, direct connection and the new ones are buffered between the mount and cabin.

I could care less about the engineering. As long as the engineers are not careless.

As long as it gets us to the top when its snowing out I'm good. Quiet and comfort is for the tourons.

look at the 4 attachment points between the car and the hanger. There are 4 blue colored dampers that move as the hanger bounces in the terminal. I don't know if it is a spring or some sort of fluid damper like a car shock absorber.
