TTB on Sunday would be November 10th, so that's tied with the second earliest since the stairs were built. I also wouldn't rule out the possibility of it happening sometime tomorrow which would make it tied for the earliest since the stairs were built.

Re: Expansion 2019-2020
When I left around 3:30 there was no doubt snowmaking TTB hammering bunny and the base near the triple w a fan and several guns. Also guns on all the way down GN, including the section next to time. They hadn’t been on long from the looks of it. But absolutely on. Top part is for sure ready, wet snow coming out of remaining guns when I left... amazing at those temps.

Are you talking about Upper East Fall (that had guns going today) and Upper Double Dipper that was opened this afternoon. Stop misleading people by saying they are blowing on East Fall and DD.snoloco wrote:For how long they've been working on East Fall, there's no excuse for it not being ready tomorrow. I wouldn't be surprised to see Double Dipper and possibly Great Northern added too.

Got to agree with Ty. Everyone whines about the Upper/Middle/Lower designations but it really does matter.
Great snow making weather will persist for a week or more, and the World Cup is in the bag! Still, they have to execute, but mountain ops is so good we take that for granted. We know they'll power through whatever catastrophe might befall them. The new drop off area is almost complete, daily progress is observable on the new base lodge. North Ridge Quad is a bitchin' ride. Top to bottom is close. Complaints? I got nothin'. Pass that bowl of cherries.

Give the kid a slight break. When I looked at the trail report before I got up Friday, at some point K had indicated they were making snow on East Fall (the lower, good part). Once on the K1, it was clear they were not and at North Ridge very clear it hadn't seen a gun flake yet. So not just on Snoloco.throbster wrote:You go girl.tyrolean_skier wrote:Are you talking about Upper East Fall (that had guns going today) and Upper Double Dipper that was opened this afternoon. Kzone takes no prisoners. Where would it end? Writing the daily based on what’s posted in the conditions report? The sanctity and integrity of Kzone requires constant vigilance. This is the Internet!machski wrote:Give the kid a slight break. Anybody that's been around K for a while knows there is absolutely no chance they were making snow on LEF this week, snoloco knows everything so he should have known that!

And with this attitude, you keep Kzone for the primary zoners and it grows stale except for the occasional Highway Star rants.madhatter wrote:daytripper wrote:Anybody that's been around K for a while knows there is absolutely no chance they were making snow on LEF this week, snoloco knows everything so he should have known that!![]()

How close are they on Downdraft Headwall? Finish that trail tomorrow when higher temps push them off Superstar and Snowdon?

Snoloco, you have to have thick skin to post here. Fortunately, most posters are nicer in person than they are on line.
Phew. T2B is done. Now what? If they follow standard procedure, they'll come down Upper Bunny to get the Snowdon Triple Open, then Lower Chute to get the six pack on line. Seems reasonable to expect them by next weekend. They won't need the uphill capacity before than, so an open before Friday seems unlikely. Midweek they're still the only game in town: Sunday River isn't open midweek.
But what else will they try to get open? Although there's a brief warm up (along with a nice November storm), they have more than enough air/water to do more. Loaded Turkey is still 2 weeks out, so they have a while before they need to finish off Upper Downdraft, but haven't they also done it at the bottom of Conclusion? Likely they'll use the cold temps to get down Great Northern to Vale and Ramshead. From that, Caper. They will need the parking for World Cup. They need it now, actually. Snow makers are going to need their jogging shoes.

Are the getting close to finishing Superstar? That capacity could be used elsewhere when done and they will leave other areas in the dust!

Looks like they started blowing on Middle Supe again last night/this morning.Big Bob wrote:Are the getting close to finishing Superstar? That capacity could be used elsewhere when done and they will leave other areas in the dust!
Re: Expansion 2019-2020
Remember though that once Supe is BURRIED, they've got to put down a decent coat of snow on Skyelark for a training venue.Big Bob wrote:Are the getting close to finishing Superstar? That capacity could be used elsewhere when done and they will leave other areas in the dust!
If the weather plays out close to the forecast for the next week, very good chance that all of the snow that needs to be down for the WC is done, and then the extra capacity can be put to the short term general public use
