In a shocking revelation, Ventura County in California just north of Los Angeles has announced that they, along with the entire state, are hiring thousands of “contact investigators” to storm the homes of COVID-infected people and remove them from their homes to place them in isolation centers.

During a briefing recently, Ventura County Public Health Officer Dr. Robert Levin told the media that the county would be moving people from their homes if these people were unable to self-isolate.

“We are beginning a program today which will certainly grow into something larger and larger,” Levin said, “and that is a community contact tracing program.”

Levin explained that the program will consist of “immediately isolating” people who are infect with the novel coronavirus. “As we do more testing, we will find more and more people who have COVID-19, and again, we’ll isolate every one of them and we’ll find every one of their contacts and we’ll make sure that they stay quarantined and we’ll check in with them every day.”

“Some of the people we find are going to have trouble being isolated. For instance, if they live in a home where there is only one bathroom and there are three or four other people living there, and those people don’t have COVID infection, we’re not going to be able to keep the person in that home. Every person who we’re isolating for instance needs to have their own bathroom.

“So we’ll be moving people like this into other kinds of housing that we have available.”

The Japanese were also moved into other kinds of housing.

The earliest suspected case in China may have been observed as early as November, some scientists believe, though others doubt the theory. But the report obtained by NBC News cites cellphone activity data showing a complete shutdown of a high-security section of the lab for 2.5 weeks between Oct. 7 and Oct. 24.

Though it offers no insight into what might have caused the shutdown, and there could be other explanations for the data, it's certainly some food for thought.

The report — obtained by the London-based NBC News Verification Unit — says there was no cellphone activity in a high-security portion of the Wuhan Institute of Virology from Oct. 7 through Oct. 24, 2019, and that there may have been a "hazardous event" sometime between Oct. 6 and Oct. 11.

It offers no direct evidence of a shutdown, or any proof for the theory that the virus emerged accidentally from the lab.

If there was such a shutdown, which has not been confirmed, it could be seen as evidence of a possibility being examined by US intelligence agencies and alluded to by Trump administration officials, including the president - that the novel coronavirus emerged accidentally from the lab.

But that is one of several scenarios under consideration by U.S. intelligence agencies. Many scientists are skeptical, arguing that the more likely explanation is that the virus was transmitted to humans through animals in a Wuhan live produce market. The World Health Organization said Friday it believed the "wet" market played a role in the spread of the disease.

Such inaccurate reports distract and detract from WHO’s and the world’s efforts to end the COVID-19 pandemic.

NY is opening on a regional, not statewide basis. Each of the 10 regions must meet specific criteria to begin reopening. Some regions alreay meet the criteria and will begin this Friday, others later. NYC and the surrounding suburbs will probably be last. Here's the details.

The USS Theodore Roosevelt had a crew of 4,800. Given the acute sample, testing was holistic. This yields an actual infection rate of roughly 23 percent, and among those infected, the fatality rate is 0.09 percent. Among the Roosevelt’s entire crew of assumedly healthy and able-bodied sailors, on a floating Petri dish, during the thick of viral outbreak that shut down all schools and placed healthy citizens across America under house-arrest, the fatality rate was .002 percent.
