The virus seems to be fighting climate change very well.
Shocking how that works isn't it. Mother Earth has been around for what... A few years or so.

Problem is right now it's spring here and fall there ( Brazil, etc ) .

Not hot anywhere except the equator - not a lot of cases or population on the equator.........

AOC must be positively ecstatic...

US power sector GHGs projected to fall 7.5% in 2020 amid record drop in global emissions

The economic halt caused by COVID-19 is expected to decrease global carbon emissions by 5% in 2020, the largest annual decline ever, according to an April 9 analysis from Carbon Brief. U.S. power sector emissions are expected to drop 7.5% this year, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration's latest Short-Term Energy Outlook released last week.

A relative of mine posted a picture taken from the Keene NH area showing the White Mountains being visible. I am guessing over 100 miles due to the cleaner air.

Over on guess the ski area thread, MH guessed Hogback, which motivated me to see it's history, and I found this gem:
Even with the late start, the 1955-56 season was one of Hogback's best, as the area operated for 74 days.
Yeah, global warming is really going to shorten our season compared to the 'olden days'.... K is at 75 days by MLK weekend.

Yeah, that's a really good comparison except for the fact Hogback is on the Mass border, had no snowmaking and is all below 3,000 feet.

How many days would K have without snow making?

Directly comparable with Mt Snow lower lifts, (Hogback is 1850 - 2,400 MSL) and if 75 days constituted a good year, that would be like Pico natural trails being open from Jan 1 to March 16. Or something like Home Stretch. Sorta like now on a good year. 75 days on natural snow is the current state of affairs on a good year. So add the benefit of snowmaking, and the outlook isn't so grim considering it's 2020.
