Skiers vs Snowboarders?

Re: Skiers vs Snowboarders?
^ especially when they sprawl the trail .. allowing no room for anyone to get by them. They're like packs of dogs out there .. showing no etiquette or level of consideration .. not to mention the coarse language, stinky clothing and PBR litter that they discard everywhere. It's disgusting
Maybe 5% of them put down any carve whatsoever. All of them who run with our posse have graduated to skiing ..
we got tired of towing them hither and yond
Sell them a park ticket and keep 'em in the pig pen.

One could argue that all those skiers ruin powder runs for snowboarders by turning powder fields into packed moguls. Most snowboarders hate riding moguls, yet you don't hear them b!tching nearly as much as skiers do about snowboarders.

Tom Sims invented the SKIboard in the 60's as a kid.
Note .. he called it a skiboard.
Jake upped the ante after failing as a ski racer.
Snowboarders didn't SAVE the ski industry.
Simply allowed lower point of entry.
Cafeteria trays are even less expensive

When I most want to be a snowboarder: When I see one surfing the woods on a powder day.
When I least want to be a snowboarder: Everywhere else.
Where I'd hate to be a snowboarder: On the flats.
And most skiers hate moguls as well. See the nightly grooming list.

Sorry Moose, don’t think these sentences have anything to do with each other! Did a quick count (so may be off) on today’s report: 67 groomed trails; 87 listed ‘Open’!?!?!

I go both ways. Skiing bumps is pretty fun. Skis also just make it way easier to get around a resort. No strapping in, the lifts are made for you, and no worries on flats. The whole experience is easier and more comfortable on your body. Even the falls are typically less harsh. But nothing beats surfing powder or ripping a deep carve on a snowboard, and that's worth all the lift hassles, pushing flats, bending over, strapping and unstrapping.

Put your feet together and lay surfy snowboard tracks in the pow with your skis. I have one buddy who describes finding me in the woods "by following the snowboard track, because you leave snowboard tracks". Thought it was funny...easyrider16 wrote: ↑Feb 23rd, '21, 14:28 I go both ways. Skiing bumps is pretty fun. Skis also just make it way easier to get around a resort. Wakeboarding beats Waterskiing all day.
Waterskiers hate wakeboarders because the boat is slower and makes bigger waves.
Sound familiar!

.. a 1 ski dock start .. tough on wakeboard .. bellyflop.
Heli? Our guide said they smelled awful. Refused 'em.
They should all stick to longboarding.

ya know what really sucks? Cross country snowboarding. It's an outsider sport of an outsider sport. And you do it outside...rocking a triple entendre

Dock start is mandatory until the water temp is 70.brownman wrote:.. a 1 ski dock start .. tough on wakeboard .. bellyflop.

Lean healside on the wakeboard and it's easy.

Re: Skiers vs Snowboarders?
and skiers are in a perma-wedge / not parallel making skidded turns. same effect, plowing snow off the slope. skiers just don't look as obvious but the damage is the same.Captain Hafski wrote: ↑Feb 23rd, '21, 09:02 FWIW: I think the snowboarders do much more damage as it is relatively easy for them to learn the "John Deere" bulldozer technique, even on the steeper terrain. I cringe when I see them coming down, for example, Conclusion in a never ending 90 degree to the fall line skid. That doesn't happen with skiers.
