How do you know it isn’t working to reduce cases? Could be twice as many without protocols.

I mean they are setting case records. Most of the cases are spread at home, not in public settings which is what these restrictions target. We've really lost the plot. When all these protocols were first introduced, it was to save lives and protect hospital capacity. Now it's to prevent people from getting colds that they are probably going to get anyways (see above).

So Snoloco I guess you're happy with the current COVID restrictions and maybe more to come. This is a WORLD HEALTH EMERGENCY,not a partisan political issue! The only way we can get rid of this thing is for everone to be vaccinated and observer protocols until it is gone. Once this happens maybe we can get rid of the masks and ride bubbles and gondolas safely again. Maybe insurance companies should stop covering unvaccinated COVID
patients.

How would they enforce it? They can't have an ambassador in each gondola telling people to wear a mask.

They can start by not allowing people to board without one on their face.

Trying to keep this thread non-political (and in the chatter forum). Any political posts or quotes of political posts are subject to be moved/removed.

Is the gondola door on the left side or the right side? Asking for a friend.

Hahaha. I see what you did there. You’re a fungi!

We have enough Covid political threads. We should be able to have one that allows for serious non-political discussion as it pertains to Killington.

Did you expect any different result? You're right that it's lip service to appease hypochondriacs. I didn't ride either gondola today, but I'd rather it not be enforced.

they actually did have mask police last season. since there were a lot of instructors needing something to do and the mtn had time to plan for it, they got pressed into duty as mask police, parking reservation checkers or manning the entrances to the lodges. this year, the new covid outbreak "snuck" up on the them so doubt they have the man power to enforce anything.

Enforcing it last season also protected them from potential closures by the state. Their only closure risk this season is if too many of their staff get sick or quarantined, and there's literally not enough people to run the lifts.

I'm over 65, have had the J&J and 12 days ago a Moderna booster. I have been a bit uncomfortable with some stuff on the news about the J&J not having a very good response to the new variant. The Moderna booster is a half dose of Moderna, so I'm not sure how much protection that dose offers. I've ridden a gondola this fall (Loon), but it was weekday, and everyone was taking their own car as there was almost no line. I just am not going to ride an enclosed lift unless I can ride alone without disrupting others. If its crowded, I just will ride open air lifts. I am just being risk adverse as I am in an age group where that is a reasonable precaution. I am not going to be a "Karen" and refuse to let others ride with me on busy days, I'll just ride chairs where there is plenty of moving air. I'd rather stay home and not inconvenience others if the only choice is an enclosed lift. MY CHOICE. I have options on where I can ski, so I will tailor my days to my preference. After all the back trouble, I'll still be able to get a lot of days, and will not be upset if I miss a day or two because of my choices.

They should use the money from fastracks and hire air marshals to ride in each of the cabins.
