.. PTI .. wasn't there a topic in here somewhere .. or has this now become a diatribe and historical analysis of a friend's demise as a sharecropper?

All the snowmaking changes in the world wouldn't change the weather dynamic this year
Some resorts have committed themselves to opening black and double black terrain .. and keeping it operational
On expert terrain, it remains to be seen whether Beast will live up to their moniker this season.
Until Cascade and some of the front 6 terrain opens, K just doesn't deliver the goods.
Many 100 day clubbers want to believe they have it best in the East. Uh Huh ..
Very few of them have sampled any terrain outside of the Basin this year.

You aren't giving the marketplace enough time to recognize change and adapt. That plus COVID uncertainty. And a bad winter so far. Not the best mix lately.

the marketplace has had plenty of time. if wages kept up with inflation and productivity since 1971 the minimum wage would be $24 an hour today. the math doesnt work out anymore.

You might want to dial some of that back.

Buy house for 24000

15 x 2000 = 30000
Buy house for over 400000

I believe the statistics she is quoting are from a union source that factors in increases in productivity. The proponents of the $24 figure are suggesting that the value of that increase in productivity should go to the worker rather than the employer. I'm not sure that's fair.

In Massachusetts the minimum wage will be $15 by 2023. I think that's more than fair. The $7.25 federal minimum wage is absurdly low, however, when compared with the inflation-adjusted 1971 minimum wage.

It's not an issue of fair. It's an issue of central command economy vs market economy.

As far as Snowshed goes, apparently beginners have enough clout to get snow. Maybe we'll see what the new park design is going to be.

So short sighted IMHO. They will absolutely loose high end groups next year that booked expensive lodging believing that MLK day was a safe bet for the skyeship or sunrise ski access. I doubt they'll loose anybody if they fail to get 6th terrain park open on Snowshed. At this point I sort of think they are going to bag stage 1 for the year. If that's the case, I wish they would just come out and say it so home owners and hosts can plan accordingly.

It is disappointing and surprising. I can't remember not touching both Sunrise/Bear and rt 4 for MLK.
It will hurt future bookings, when limited Ski on/off lodging is one of the biggest complaints on guest surveys. And many people love the peak to creek run.

They already blew to Bearly, it doesnt seem like that big a commitment to finish rt 4. Mountain has been heavily booked/sold out for MLK for some time already.

You sideliners are hysterical...FACT:.....base lodge parking lots...are FULL. Have been most weekends....NO ONE ELSE ...on East Coast...is delivering the same . Stay home...more terrain for moi.....

With the relatively limited amount of terrain open, the Zoo factor this weekend is going to be extreme. Okemo and pretty much everyone else in New England is in the same boat.
