Re: Spring?
Seems the snow shifted west a bit but they're still getting a good amount. What I see on the webcams is pretty nice, but they wouldn't start opening more trails again this time of year? Or would they?

Re: Spring?
They would open more trails, just not more lifts.

I just noticed this:
K-1 Express Gondola, Snowdon Six Express, Snowdon Triple and Ramshead Express Quad will close for the season on
Sunday, April 24.
Superstar Express Quad will continue to spin daily through Sunday, May 1, and Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays thereafter until the Superstar Glacier melts out.

Re: Spring?
After lifts close, then you have to hike to get to areas who still have good snow but that's a lot of work so doing it once might be enough to have a change from skiing Superstar all day. May need a pickup if you choose to find your way to Bear and ski OL.RustyK wrote: ↑Apr 20th, '22, 20:10 I just noticed this:

Same as it ever was. Same as it ever was... at least since the good old days before Otten.

Re: Spring?
This will be the final weekend for skiing and riding from the peak of the K-1 gondola due to equipment needs for construction of the new lodge. But thanks to the new snow, we will be reopening the North Ridge Quad for Friday-Sunday and adding a few bonus days on the Snowdon Six this coming Monday-Thursday. We had also planned to end services on Ramshead on Sunday, April 24, however thanks to a stockpile of snow on Timberline, we now intend to reopen the lift Friday, April 29 through Sunday, May 1 to service the Peace Park. Red’s Backyard will also remain open next week for hiking while conditions allow. Please note: We will not have any rentals or lodge services Monday-Thursday, so plan to boot up at your car. Due to K-1 construction, Ramshead terrain will require a little walking to access the trails on Superstar. That lift still spins until 5:00 p.m. on Saturdays and will remain open every day through May 1, and then on weekends while the snow lasts. Of course, Mother Nature will have the final say, so be sure to check the conditions report for the most up-to-date information.

Re: Spring?
Jeesh RH and Snowdon in May that's pretty cool.
Re: Spring?
Just Ramshead. Snowdon appears to close after next Thursday. Seems kind of odd, but any time you can ride a lift that's not Superstar in May, I consider a win.

Re: Spring?
Could be banking on just having the depths on Timberline by then.
Re: Spring?
They seem to imply that they will also have Caper to Great Northern. Both those trails and Timberline have deeper coverage than anything on Snowdon.
Once again, any additional terrain or lifts in May you can't complain about. Last time they had anything but Superstar spinning in May was 2015, 7 years ago. Also, don't discount the importance of having North Ridge open this weekend. It takes people off the K1 and allows one to take advantage of the highest elevation terrain, which is what got the most snow. As long as the runout is continuous and there's no line, I don't mind having to lap the K1 for Cascade and Downdraft.

Has Ram's Head ever been open in May? Not my recollection but I don't keep notes either.

Re: Spring?
If it wasn't for the k1 lodge being knocked down ramshead wouldn't be open right now.
