Re: Expansion
They should probably take the picture of the stairs down from the K homepage. It's not exactly a selling point at this point in time.

Re: Expansion
You must either work for Killington or be related to someone who does. No one without some sort of connection to the mountain would call the product that Killington presented to us this weekend "outstanding". Taking into consideration the weather they have had since they opened, it is the worst or pretty damn close to the worst I have seen in my over 3 decades of skiing at Killington. Excluding the snowmaking for the race (which gives you a clue of when and where they can do snowmaking), the snowmaking for the rest of the mountain has been an overall grade D and a grade F for this past weekend. In comparison, Okemo and Sugarbush opened this weekend with TTB and we are still walking the stairwell. This is not the Killington we know and love. This is a total failure on Mike and his snowmaking and grooming teams. He owes us an apology.SlowChick wrote: ↑Nov 21st, '23, 00:24So sick of this K-Zone chatter crap. If you can’t climb up, you can’t handle North Ridge. It’s not even Thanksgiving. Please ski elsewhere with your passes. Killington has been outstanding. Kudos to Mike and his OUTSTANDING team. They are awesome!DrJeff wrote:As a Mount Snow regular, I saw and have experienced 1st hand now 4 or 5 seasons ago what a MEGA upgrade in pumping capacity combined with an annual serious investment in new snowguns annually means when they brought their West Lake Project on line.
You are likely going to see some BIG things from Sunday River this year now that their multi year upgrade project to get WAY more water out towards Jordan Bowl is now done.. The same guy who engineered the Mount Snow project, Brendan Ryan, after a few years while still an employee of Peak Resorts oversaw also the big (for them) upgrades at Wildcat before he jumped ship to Boyne after Vail chose not to keep various Peak folks on (they lost some quality talent often over their lack of diversity status if one is being truthful), and now his big vision (for now) at Sunday River is a reality. For him to do the equivalent for K's snowmaking MASSIVE system proportionality wise what he did at Mount Snow, Wildcat and now Sunday River, may literally be an investment nearing 50 million over 2-5yrs.... time and $$ will tell

Re: Expansion
What absolute BS from Killington. I have seen the mountain lit up with guns and from what I can see going out there is not even close to what I witnessed at times over the last 3 decades. This isn't even up to a third of the "capacity" I have witnessed before.Southside_Bobby wrote: ↑Nov 20th, '23, 17:21 "With the current cold temps our snowmaking team is pushing our system to its limits working 24/7 to get us open for top to bottom skiing to the K-1 base area real soon."
We are back to Killington lying to our faces again.

Re: Expansion
Thanks for the details on the race training rentals
Why would K open the trails for the general public when they can get about $30,000 in rent from ski teams

Re: Expansion
Has anyone emailed Mike?
What was his reply?
I would but I can’t find his email.
Can anyone post?

Full disclosure, Sugarbush is not TTB. They are open with 1.5 routes off an 830 vertical foot lift.Cuervo1.8k wrote: ↑Nov 21st, '23, 11:57 [Okemo and Sugarbush opened this weekend with TTB and we are still walking the stairwell.

Feel you're getting fleeced by the Beast of the East? Paying the most, but getting the least? Because snow making decreased? And caring about you has ceased? Then eat your Thanksgiving feast, and go cry to your priest, because Powdr isn't giving much this season to its Fans in the Northeast. And last but not least, to those the stairs that Killington bequeathed, may ye lead and not follow to elude the gas I released.
