At this point I expect nothing but sludge for any storms. Even though it was 20 degrees or so at my house yesterday it was freezing r*in mixed in for a bit. Can't win.

FWIW - To those of us bitching about all the snow they were making on Highline, it will serve us well in the spring when the Superstar lift goes down in April for it's replacement !!
Goes to show, you don't never know
Watch each card you play, and play it slow
Don't you let that deal go down
Don't you let that deal go down

Looks like its going down no matter what I do !!!

SS will likely be a two year deal. Pour footings year 1, put it all up year 2 etc. Also HL faces Southeast, won't last long. Something in the Canyon is the better bet if they forego SS for spring.

only heard rumors. guess you're confirming it. highline's orientation isn't ideal but spring of '22 when they buried that side of the mtn because of the lodge construction shutting down the k1 early, highline still skied well on may 1.

damn that's gonna suck, no may skiing on superstar. my favorite month. that's what makes the season for me.

as for expansion, guns continuing to pound lower wildfire and upper skyeburst. both look ready. patrol was putting padding on the towers so guessing tomorrow. guns were running on GE from the cruise intersection. don't know how far they go down.

most logical in the canyon is double dipper but then you need either the runout or GN to get people down. plus you have to have another lift to get people up. costly logistics and it's far from the action. as i mentioned above, we skied HL until may 1 in 2022.

Replacing the Supe lift makes a lot of sense. BUT...

1. If they can't figure out how to replace this lift without screwing spring, that would be quite lame.
2. If they are going to screw spring, when do they plan on telling their customers - AFTER they sell a bunch of spring passes?

IMO, they aren't going to screw spring.

Bear Cub is going to be open tomorrow, much to the delight and relief of all the Sunrise posters on the board. Didn't want anyone have to resort to ALL CAPS BOLD ITALIC UNDERLINED SUPERSIZE HOT PINK TEXT!

Thank you for brighteningup what would otherwise be the absolute most boring thread on Kzone.

would put ramshead (probably waiting for the village) and skyeship (most of the cabins don't open or close properly) ahead of supe, but certainly supe's logged enough hrs. had been hearing it was gonna be a non-bubble six. but this is the first i've heard of it shutting down in april which i agree seems lame. most areas can build or replace a lift during the off-season though supe does have a shorter off-season than most. but especially if they're gonna build it during 2 off-seasons, see no reason to kill the spring.

and actually the sooner they let us know the better. yes for the spring passes and so we can make plans. obviously there's gonna be lots of speculation until we hear for sure.

The r. K1 gondola was started in mid summer and opened Thanksgiving the same year.

Bear Cub was open to Sunrise this morning but later closed. I guess they wanted to continue sticking it to the homeowners and use the weather as an excuse.

The two year build on SS makes the most sense. They still have 5 months to finish regardless.

Snow making T2B on upper Skyeburst, Lower Wildfire, and Needles. The coffee can HKD towers on Needles are getting no throw. Wrong equipment for that trail. They have cut back on guns on lower GE. Can’t tell how much. But far fewer on the visible upper part.

Is there another resort that puts ski on/ski off property owners lower on the priority list than Killington does?

Superstar is the next lift to be replaced - direct from the horses mouth during Killington's presentation to our condo association last month.
