Re: The Trials Of Donald Trump
I think he has the money or the means to get it. I think he just doesn't want to pay it and thinks SCOTUS will save him.

He says he has it, but sounds like you're right that he doesn't want to payeasyrider16 wrote: ↑Mar 21st, '24, 20:07 I think he has the money or the means to get it. I think he just doesn't want to pay it and thinks SCOTUS will save him.

Re: The Trials Of Donald Trump
From the HuffPost:
President Joe Biden mocked Donald Trump’s financial struggles during a reception at a campaign event in Dallas on Wednesday.
“Just the other day a defeated-looking man came up to me and said, ‘Mr. President, I have crushing debt, and I’m completely wiped out,’” Biden said. “And I had to look at him and say, ‘Donald, I’m sorry. I can’t help you.’”

Appeals court pauses $464M judgment in Trump’s New York fraud case
https://whnt.com/hill-politics/appeals- ... raud-case/
A New York appeals court on Monday temporarily stopped the clock on the looming enforcement of a multimillion-dollar judgment against former President Trump and his company over deceitful business practices.
In a terse order, a five-judge state appeals court panel said it would pause the enforcement of the $464 million judgment against Trump, the Trump Organization and top executives, plus interest, if within 10 days they post a $175 million bond.
The pause comes after Trump’s lawyers admitted last week that, despite “diligent efforts,” it would be “impossible” for the former president to secure a full appeals bond due to lack of cash on hand.

Maybe true, but it would probably happen for any regular billionaire accused of white collar crime.

John Eastman faces disbarment for his part in working for Trump in 2020. This on top of multiple other lawyers working for him being censured, fined, or disbarred for their lapses in professional responsibility.

No doubt democracy is on the line in November. The fact it’s even this close is incredible.

Meanwhile, while not a criminal trial, Trump is now suing the founders of Truth Social

Re: The Trials Of Donald Trump
I keep hearing a lot of procedural objections to the prosecutions of Trump - biased prosecutors, biased juries, novel theories of law, etc. To me that begs the question that should be the real focus - Trump's conduct.
In even the weakest cases, Trump's conduct has been questionable and has invited these investigations and prosecutions. In the Stormy case, Trump paid hush money to a porn star on the eve of a campaign. In the New York fraud case, Trump made multiple major misrepresentations on financial disclosures. In the Georgia case, Trump is accused of trying to pressure an election official to "find votes" to overturn an election.
So for those of you who keep complaining that these cases are election interference, or politically motivated, etc., can you address Trump's actual conduct and tell me why it's defensible?

Re: The Trials Of Donald Trump
That's a weird meme. Who said he's mentally unfit for criminal charges? I don't think anybody's said that.
Come on man, Trump had four years to get his justice department to indict Biden and failed. Admit that he's either incompetent or Biden didn't do anything they could prosecute.
