Re: Is Killington for sale?
Those were the first two things that occurred to me as I finished reading. Next up was the specificity of the price with only vague info on the buyers.
How did you arrive at a price? Did AI supply?
BTW, Right now at 6.6B market cap, Vail’s 42 resorts would be worth avg $157M each.
Just spitballing, K owned by Vail would be worth more than the average Vail resort. So $175M is a good number for PUBLIC market valuation. But, since we’re all pretty sure that Vail isn’t the buyer, I’d go with $125M in private market value. I don’t have time now but if someone wants to dig up recent ski resort sales for comps, those would improve on my guess. (Of course, the caveat is what assets are included in any sale.)

The “press release” has now been copied onto Killington Locals on Facebook.

Rumor has it that they will be relocating the snowdon 6 to act as the summit lift for Yawgoo and bringing in an 160 person arial tram to service the snowdon area

Thanks as always, Mike. We didn't think it was you who posted the suspicious "leaked press release".Killington Resort wrote: ↑Aug 21st, '24, 21:49 this is fake - I post from the Killington login - that is how you can tell.....when there is news you will be interested in I will post here....

But I would think that, if all the recent talk of sale was pure rumor, you would say so as well.
We look forward to whatever announcement you might make. If you make it here first, that would be cool too.

As someone who works for vail resorts, our ski and ride has been coordinating with killingtons and what has been said is that okemo is going to be beginner and lower intermediate and all black will be regarded and Killington is going to be upper intermediate ro expert and any green trails ie snowshed will become terrain parks. Next summer a funicular railway will be installed from the k1 lodge to jackson gore. Should be cool.

They say they will announce what capital improvements they are planning after they close. We'll see how substantial they really are.
For now, they say nothing will change at K. Fast Tracks remains. Folks must be so relieved.

Hmmm, I see the press release but no mention of Yawgoo, Reno’s ownership stake, the casino or the multi-mile lift.
I’m gonna call BS on this one, I’m sticking to my K-zone sources 100%.
