Agree +1000 . . what a waste of good trails
all for the rats having their parks. the timberline park, which goes on forever, takes up a tremendous, perhaps disproportionate amount of snowmaking resources. fine with that but as soon as they're done there, they start building the stash/maker parks. dreammaker in particular because of the size of the features again takes up a ton of resources and is usually empty when we ski through. at least the peace park is busy. and the painful part is watching them get plowed down when those areas close w plenty of snow on them.

and while they ultimately do try to get to most of the regular ski trails, there's the possibility that a number will lay "fallow" - trails like lower pipedream, upper WF and vertigo. there was talk about how great the dream HW was a couple seasons and wouldn't it be fantastic if they finally use that new plumbing on the fiddle. point is perhaps stash/dream should be behind those other trails in the build out.

Park rats are people (i.e. customers) too.
Sure . . whatever . . .. but instead of spreading them all over the mountain, contain the rats in their own sterile playpen . .
I don’t disagree, but where? If you want to have green, blue and black terrain parks, they of necessity have to be spread out.

Lower skyelark could have a nice black terrain park on it and then could be knocked down for spring skiing. Then we wouldn't complain about it melting away when bear closes.

I just heard about the 2 knuckleheads who interfered with a Mookie Betts catch in the world series being banned from all major league parks. Speaking as someone who was once knocked unconscious by a reckless skier at the bottom of Superstar and deliberately taken out by a boarder on Highline I'd love to see Killington do the same to them. With all the cameras and facial recognition tech at K it should be easily enforceable. The worst offenders should be banned for life like Da Diss.

and G the problem has gotten much worse since you got hit and it's not limited to killington. out west a friend got hit and knocked out. had internal bleeding in his brain and a broken face.

have no problem with "capital" punishment for offenders. perhaps there's levels but you injure someone - lose pass for season. 2nd time - permanent ban. that might get some folks attention.

they can fix this by making dreammaker have more options on features, an easier and more difficult. two jump takeoffs instead of one for the same landing. i love stashmaker laps especially when the pipe is cut and not some stupid hybrid half assed pipe set up thats a waste of snow (although i was told they sold their larger pipe dragon so no more large pipe ever again). the first year of peace park was in dreammaker and that was my favorite dreammaker build, it was a little more accessible to those with park skills who didnt want the risk of bigger features.

IMO timberline is a shitty park trail, its not steep enough, you lose speed on one feature you wont have speed for the others. id rather have too much speed and have to be thoughtful about my set up turns than not enough speed and need to straight line. especially in the spring when the park is most appealing as the landings arent concrete. the other issue with timberline is mixing park rats with beginners. terrible idea. the easy street park is different, thats the same level of park riding as the terrain pod calls for - beginners.

It's time for some Kudos and a shout out to K for improving their reporting. I think they do listen to some of our gak here.

At least from the App, the Snow Report section has changed. It still shows the time, weather, and temperature [at Bear, but can scroll L/R to get this info at K1 lodge and the Peak] at the top along with the 4 snowfall data points '24h, 7day, base, season].

Then the same next few days forecast - Note, they don't always have the days right on this.

Then, the Snow Reporters Update - You know, the one that starts with Howdy Beast Fans, etc. ! It seems like they have shortened this babbling up a bit but they have now added individual Weather, Snowmaking, and Grooming paragraphs.

Not real impressed with the Grooming one though as it mostly provides a link to the detailed Trails info [which they have improved w.r.t. grooming info on].

Hopefully, they are still working on getting the Lift / Trail status better in real time.

For those attracted to or wishing to avoid, they also finally have "snowmaking" under the notes column.

Y’all can’t be serious?!? There are 100’s of trails on the mountain and you guys are complaining about a few parks?!? The mountain isn’t just for groomer skiers, and they do a great job of offering something for everyone. I get that this site is mostly for old men to complain about things that will never change, But come on?!? Y’all are getting pretty ridiculous

When a skier falls with no one around, it’s still a snowboarders fault😂😂 I guarantee the boarder didn’t “deliberately” hit you.

Yes I can say the boarder hit me deliberately. High Line is a very wide trail and we were the only people on it. I was skiing a pretty straight line and in an area where he could see me from pretty far above me. I'm not attacking all boarders, just the belligerent scumbags that are looking for a fight.

Killington has had overcrowding for many years because uphill capacity far exceeds downhill capacity. Snowden used to be a double and before that 2 pomas. The trail layout hasn't changed much in all that time but now it's a high speed 6. Bear has 2 quads leading into 3 trails not including OL. They are replacing the Superstar quad with a 6 without any changes to the trail layout in that area. What's next an 8 pack on OL?
