Here's the problem
We've been getting PM's from people that they don't like the direction the board has taken for the last month or so, and a lot of them are not posting becuase of it. I for one agree with some of their sentiments, some of the crap thats gone on has gotten a little tiresome.
Then on the other hand we've got the other people who want to keep going on harassing people/flame wars etc. and will shout loudly from the mountaintops of they think they've been wronged in any way (basically acting like babies).
So what'll it be? It seems like we can't have it both ways and can't satisfy everyone.
If we remain hands off we start losing some good people. Is there any way for the more vocal folks to rein it in just a bit? Or is that just impossible to ask?
I'm looking for suggestions from all types. Maybe if we get a consensus here we can take the board in the direction it should be moving.
Will November ever arrive?
Thoughts?

actually, I was talking to spanky about just that thing. Why does this sort of thing work on the TGR board, but not here?
i.e. From what I understand anything goes over there. But we get too many complaints here. Is that because they don't care over there who is offended and decides to leave? Or is there a different reason?
Splain me....

Spanky has been extremely good about ignoring Humptys bait for the last 2 or 3 months (I forget exactly how long) but Humpty hasn't gotten tired of his little game.
Maybe there's an exception to every rule?
Hello Dork:
I think it's going to be hard to judge what to cut off and what to let fly.
Sometimes what people write I find funny, other times not. Some of the funniest threads I've read are flame wars where others, not part of the flame, interject humor.
That said I think there's an awful lot of disrespectful things written on the board. I doubt people would say to someone's face what they write.
I just read what I wrote - there's no answer there. Sorry!

I kind of alluded to you on a lift back in March that this was going to happen.
We started losing good people back then becuse of a certain poster was rubbing many people the wrong way. Some even left because of it. Some of us were very disappointed when that happened.
While this is not a dark alley with a bunch of unrepresented cops, some of us began to stick up for our friends.
Maybe we should then start our own board where one person is not allowed to spew unrestrained jibberish? Although that person has already started his own board.

right now humpty is pretty sure spanky will see his post and (maybe) will take the bait. the ignore feature makes him invisible to spanky. spanky doesn't even see the bait - so there is no longer a reason for humpty to try.SkiDork wrote:well, actually that not totally accurate (although I thought it was up till this point)HelmetCam wrote:implement an ignore feature
