Exactly. And to repeat was was mentioned earlier. We need some sort of guideline so when things do get out of hand, people can't complain that they weren't warned.
Never argue with idiots. They will bring you down to their level, then overwhelm you with their experience.

I think you guys are doing a great job. But there is some irony in that Ty is posting that she tries to keep an eye on content because kids read this, and Dork's got posts in a thread that depicts frozen genitalia...!? I think the pictures are funny, but I wouldn't be comfortable sharing the laugh with my 13-year-old daughter. Are you cool with Iceman and Snow Princess getting involved in this thread? I give you guys a lot of credit. Thanks for doing this.

I could care less about most of the things that people say or do here. Little actually offends me. Mouse wants to put a weed pic up, fine. Most people here smoke anyway and your kids probably will try it whether they see the pic or not.

I think the only thing that I have found borderline offensive here was somebody's signature on Kchat that that went something lijke "Rape is such a harsh word. I prefer to call it "Surprise, your having Sex with me"". I admit it. I complained about that one to Nick.

The reality of being a kid who frequents a ski resort is that they have tons of social interaction with adults...

You just instill your own values to your kids and hope they can learn to live as good people - like you are..

I meet kids at ski areas that act a lot more mature then kids their age.. I attribute it to being socialized with adults... It's easy to protect your kids in your own town... But ski areas are adult playgrounds... So they will be exposed to adult stuff...

I warn my nephew every time he comes up - not to go home and swear like everyone does... Or else his mom wont let him come back...

He's a good kid...

lol... I was actually quite tickled the other day when my son said to Mtn Man, "If I said the f-word my mom would ground me for like...5 Months!"

It's true, if you invest a lot of time teaching them the right way when they are very young you see some surprisingly good results as you begin to let go later on down the line.

The difficult thing about the message board is that context is not as discernable as in a conversation with someone on the phone or face to face.

Last week, we were out with our CEO when someone I work with told a joke about Swartzanegger that ended with Maria didn't give him sex for 14 days. It embarrassed myself and everyone that I work with. And it wasn't even raunchy. I think we were lucky enough to distract the translater so the punchline didn't get fed back to the CEO.

I will not let my children see any part of this thread. The snow sculptures are quite explicit. The administrators here have allowed them to remain so I have decided that my children will not see them at all.

Hey, bottom line is, they maintain and moderate the site for their use and enjoyment and for the use and enjoyment of others, I am sure they appreciate a wide variety of views but nonetheless wish, or feel it appropriate, to restrict certain content they find offensive or believe that others might find offensive, that is their perogative, end of story, hence, their judgment is final. I applaud that, if you don't like it, post elsewhere or engage in reasonable debate with them, just understand and respect the bottom line. I do. Thanks for running the site.
