ALPINEZONE is a for-profit site. Greg goes to seminars, reads books, and reads endless online information on how to "optimize online profits". If he thinks a thread will turn someone off and as a result they won't click on one of his Google Ads links that sends him $.02, then he will "nip it in the bud". That's why it's a more sterile atmosphere there. A great deal of the threads are started and milked by his own moderators. Some of the moderators are cool. Trailboss for instance. Other's are dicks. Stephen for instance. Some of us head bangers don't fit in. Oh well. I don't think calling Greg names on KZONE hurts his feelings. It's anybody's right to speech to say what they feel. He is what he is. I'm very surprised he hasn't rung in. He may be busy organizing his next bus trip to Jiminy Peak.
Myself and another moderator organize trips. Alot of the promos go to free lift tickets that are given to our users.
I believe you use to post under another name for a while over there. I'm curious as to how you know my motives for posting. I start some threads and post in others....cause I like skiing and the skiing community. Your entitled to your opinion about the site. My motives are mine.

Cool, thankx I edited my post. I should have left this thread like I said I would. My mistake.roundabout wrote:My wife and I both meet you Bob, you are a nice guy and fun to hang out with, we both look forward to skiing with you again this season.

It appears that way. A quick GOOGLE search turns up:RossiSkier wrote:ALPINEZONE is a for-profit site. It's not that I want to put the guy down, it's more about specific things he did that I thought were lame - and one thing in particular that really angered me. But I don't wish anything bad upon him or his site - I think it's great that he's out to make a profit and hope he's successful in doing so.RossiSkier wrote:I don't think calling Greg names on KZONE hurts his feelings.
That said, the actions Greg took made me realize it's just not my kind of forum. It's just a matter of personal preference. No big deal. Other people obviously love the place, and I think that's great!

Just gotta love internet drama, eh?
For the record, I've invited both pizza (pube) and DMC to call me directly to discuss this live. Neither have. I suppose they'd simply rather trash me on this and a few other message boards, posting behind internet aliases versus having a civil adult conversation with me. I guess that's their prerogative...
I honestly felt that DMC's first "goodbye" post was just a pity party aimed at a "why ya leaving DMC?" reponse which would have inevitably lead to additional trashing of AZ, me and the moderation. Nevertheless, I decided to leave it and just lock the thread as it did contain the contact information. Another moderator eventually removed it. The initial version of his second thread included some direct blasts at me as well as some details of conversations we had privately. I decided to delete that thread as well, if only to remain consistent. It would be hypocritical to leave one and not the other.
It's no secret that AZ is a "commercial" endeavor. I use the term "commercial" lightly as I'm not in a position to retire any time soon. ;)
Both DMC and pizza are welcome at AZ. In fact, many of us will miss DMC's views on Hunter and surrounding areas. AZ is definitely mellower than places like KZone or TGR, but I've had many more compliments on how I run the board than complaints. Some folks like it the way it is; others don't. One thing I've learned from doing this for the past 6+ years is that you'll never please everybody...

Your justifying these actions over the phone will not change that fact, so why bother?
By the way, did you even read this? From the tone of your message, it's clear that you haven't.. and that attitude is the basis of the problems I had with you and at least two of your mods:
As par as "pity party" or hypocrisy goes, if that's the justification you're offering for deleting the entire goodbye thread, then I'm still not interested in coming back. It's not that I want to put the guy down, it's more about specific things he did that I thought were lame - and one thing in particular that really angered me.
