so long as we are discussing who dun what, What fully demacrat controlled government sent us into a recession and screwed up Social Security and started Medicare/Medicaid? Both houses and the president pushed through the spending. "I shall not seek, nor will I accept, my parties nomination..." 'cause he knew he could not win.

Which fully demacrat government saw gas prices double while fuel lines were the norm, sent us into a triple double on inflation, unemployment and interest rates, cut our military nearly beyond repair and started the rapid rise of the deficit?

I'm just trying to be as obnoxious as possible so they'll kill this stinkin' thread already. Maybe I'll have to post a picture of my fat hairy bacon stripped ass in here.
But since we're here let me call on my incredible long term memory for a second...
Gas lines first happened in 1974. I remember it because I couldn't get to Vermont, not even Huntah on one tank of gas.
The guy who was president at the time may have been a Democrat by neocon standards but it was our beloved Richard M. Nixon! He did us all a favor and resigned that summer after the gas crisis was over.
There was a second crunch during the Jimmy (I'll never lie to ya) Carter administration so I fixed his ass! I voted for Anderson that year. I guess it's my fault Reagan got in.
And.. before I let you off the hook don't you ski at the same mountain as this guy?

What does it mean "being a patriot"? Does that mean if you disagree with his policy (any policy) you're not? Does it mean that it is unpatriotic to argue against a government policy instituted by him or his admininstration?

As for his being a "visionary", that's all well and good, and his "vision" may end up being viewed differently than today through the eyes of history, but his implementation and the arrogance of this administration in how they went about going forward with that vision will be viewed as incompetent no matter what lens one views this administration.
