I'll pile on- MRG uppity? If there's a more non uppity mountain than MRG, I haven't been there. Boarders aren't allowed because of their own fault (boy, it was lousy when they were allowed, the single would always have problems). I had to come back to edit, because I can't imagine a few "uppity" gentleman going in and sharing the urinal trough.asher2789 wrote:sigh. if you hate jibbing and boarders so much, i heard theres an uppity place called mad river glen

Re: Expansion 2019-2020
It's that early season anger with limited terrain and idiots (boarders and skiers) out of control on trails that are not very wide. Can't wait until there's much more terrain open!
As for MRG, as I've said before, if I'm gonna drive another hour+ from K, I'm heading to Sugarbush (even if I'm skiing) so don't really care what MRG does. When MRG gets dumped on so does Sugarbush. Much more terrain, lift capacity and snowmaking. Don't know how MRG survives with really no snowmaking. That single chair is ridiculous also! The last vote I saw to allow boarders at MRG was about 60-40% against. That was probably like 10 years ago and I posted it here. Not sure what the vote in the last couple years has been...

From the report, they are making snow on Bunny and Chute and plan to start running the bubble this weekend. Bye bye lift lines.

Big enough to be fun, with an awesome landing, but not dangerous at all for the gapers. I really like how it is fenced off, which cuts down on the traffic, and made it easy to monitor traffic over the jump before hitting it. Usually there were a couple people standing to the side of the jumps that would spot if you yelled down to them. One of the best resort jumping experiences I've had. The lower park was pretty good too, but traffic could get pretty sketchy when trying to ski it with some flow - there were lots of gapers wandering in there. I had one sort of close call when there was a kid skiing down the landing of one of the jumps. They could stand to fence off the entrance same as the viper pit, and fence off the sides of the landing so people can't ski down them. But, all in all, one of the safest parks I've seen. This really makes Bear an expert mountain, you have the steeps, glades, bumps and jumps all in the same place. If you want to go ski groomers, do it at snowdon, or better yet, okemo.

Checked it. Yep. You did it. Less than 30 minutes after you joined, too. I'm a bit in awe. World class trolling, and you've kept up those high standards for nigh on 15 years. Undisputed champ (except maybe accidental Dougie from SkiVt?) Take a bow, man. Then, of course, get the f' out.Highway Star wrote:I was flamed on my first post ever. It was a good post though.

I can verify they were blowing lower Chute and the Perimeter trail, to the SD6, yesterday.
Goes to show, you don't never know
Watch each card you play, and play it slow
Don't you let that deal go down
Don't you let that deal go down
Looks like its going down no matter what I do !!!

Re: Expansion 2019-2020
Guns feeding the S6 now is great news. Expansion getting some love on a Wednesday. Few more days until busy time, they will be ready for the S6. The corral is supposed to be altered in design, lets be patient and see how it works out.
With this cold weather and Snowdon expansion moving along, I would expect to see guns on lower east fall & the runout some time in the next few days. Make it while its efficient weather, it has to get done anyways so get it going. They are a key to absorbing Thanksgiving crowds. Naturally I would like to see Cascade all the way first, but I will gladly accept lower east fall to get the Canyon quad rolling.
This frigid air moves on eventually, looks like normal temps coming back that don't give them 24 hour snowmaking, maybe just overnights. Please blow Cascade or East Fall now while it makes sense. There should be enough coverage & quality on Snowdon by Sat morning. Set up Cascade top to bottom by itself for expansion. With the blasting continuing on Superstar, they might be done for base depths real soon. Time is needed to let it drain then move it around to race course requirements, then follow up next week with whatever else snow they need there. That means the firepower and labor can go into Snowdon and Cascade or East Fall.
Going to be great this weekend, and next weekend. Everything is falling into place for all interested parties. Only 7 days of Peak Walkway this season. Expansion for the public, World Cup virtually assured, new chair up top, new tunnel completed, other hills opening up to relieve the crowding pressure, and its just November 13 today. The Beast roars again.

In your opinion, what lifts will spin for the 11/23 weekend?
Thanks!
