However, I have a terrable memory when it comes to musicians and band names. Let just say, I live in the moment – I enjoy the song and rearly think of who the band is. Can any of you help me with this list.

Exaamples I have so far:

Jesus is just alright with me, Doobie Brothers
Spirit in the Sky, Norman Greenbaum
Stairway to Heaven, Led Zeppelin
Stairway to Heaven was about coping a bag of dope.
I thought it was about a woman who accumulates money, but finds out the hard way her life had no meaning and will not get her into heaven. Robert Plant said in concert, this was “a song of hope” (Live album Song Remains the Same)
Stairway was a song about heroin, no doubt.
I thought "Hey Jude" was about heroin.
"Bridge Over Troubled Waters" too.

Maybe Plant was on heroin when he wrote the lyrics but I've never thought it to be about heroin. Actually I have no idea what it's about but it does sound good.

"Dust in the Wind" by Kansas. Sorry that goes in the i-wanna-kill-myself depressing column.........

"Carry on my Wayward Son" is much betterer.
It's on my iPod...

The rumor about the song BOTW being about drug use appeared in a book by Brian Wilson Key titled Subliminal Seduction. This book and its sequel Media Sexploitation where pop culture icons in the early 70's. The book talks about various songs and there hidden messages. The "sail on silver girl" line was specifically mentioned. The part where they say "Sail on Silver Girl, sail on by, you're time has come to shine...." is about the needle.

If you want uplifting, how about "Lust for Life" which is actually about KICKING heroin, and not glorifying it.
Es war sehr schoen.
Over ten years... not including RSN or K-Chat. Way too much time wasted.
