They would have to do it at least the End of February or beginning of March, weather permitting, as K now states.

Greg, write a book about your life story, "Learn to Ski in Your Thirties".
As soon as you write yours, "Internet Tough Guy: How to act like an asshole online".
Talk about a poser. Beginner skier starts a website to be hip amogst the life long skier crowd. Greg, don't hate those who have skiied all their lives.
p.s. Has the ski shop moved your bindings back now since you're an intermediate now?
Yo, VV, what up with this lifetime vs. us late starters? I started in the AF but then did not ski again until my 30's. People enjoy skiing so give it up will ya.

I'm sure you started watching baseball long after you took up skiing.

No, actually by the sound of things I was watching baseball with your dad. I just stopped keeping track of it until I met these Red Sox fans that made me realize how important baseball really is.

not to speak for someone else, but i think its the way greg pumps up his skiing prowess unnecessarily. people that have skied a lifetime dont do that. plus, i've seen his video and he isnt that great. its his attitude--rubs people the wrong way. its especially funny because he hasnt skied very long.

Dat be fine woodland, but don't lump all of us together. I started skiing in the 70's, but being in the military and then going to school made for very few ski days. So, my skiing really didin't start until the 80's. I do alright.

The rep from sundown said it wouldnt be until prep school racing is done. Early to mid-march would be the best guess, if they follow through with it.

Doc, I never would have guessed you were in your 80's. You look great for your age!

Ya know, everyone loves a little but nobody loves a smart! AND, 80 sure seems a lot closer these days than it used to. Hope I'll still be skiing if I make it that far.

Thanks for letting me know around what time of the year this may occur. Actually, I am not sure Iceman can compete in such a competition anymore. We will have to check the rules. I think he might be involved in other competitions anyway until late March.

WOW Doc, I would never have thought that you started skiing in your 30s because you ski so damn well and without all the bad habits that I developed even though I started skiing in my 20s.

No, I don't have anything against skiers learning to ski at any age. I just wanted to torment Greg. How did I do?

It's definitely
NOT years on snow, it's days on snow + pushing yourself a little + skiing with people better than you + getting some quality instruction + skiing a wider range of terrain and conditions. Some people advance faster than others. Skiing is balance, muscle tone, and skill. You can't skimp on any of those to get to ski like Doc. Of course he has a few advantages, like low center of gravity, and a sinewy frame.

Pretty lamely, if you ask me. First of all, you got your facts wrong. I started skiing at 19, not "middle age". You got the slight balding part right, so I'll give you that one. ;) By challenging me, what you did was expose yourself as a loud-mouthed, out of shape, drunk poser with bad knees. All of K-zone is impressed, I'm sure.
Oh and woody, go ahead and find some of these posts where I "pump my skiing prowess." I'm very honest about my skill which is lower to mid-advanced, at best. I certainly never claimed to be an expert, but perhaps you can find some posts where I have. If so, post them.
Both WLC and VV are still bitter they got themselves banned from AZ, all because they simply couldn't act with a small bit of civility. So they continue to try to "torment" me.

Time to get over it and move on with life, me thinks...
