There was actually a line at Superstar Quad today!
But I thought no one skis this late in the season? And its not even the weekend.
It was all passholders today.
Its only mid April, a week or two down the road nobody would be around. People are taking advantage of the perfect spring weather, and the last days at K for the season!!!
And with only 2 lifts open, and a few times of a 30sec liftline, its nothing too special... Superstar trail was pretty busy, but thats because K is only offering a very small amount of terrain.
I would say that mad river today looked like a pretty decent split between pass holders and paper hangers. I was suprised actually by how many lift tickets we saw. Quite a few killington folk up there today too

Are they still open next week or are they closing this weekend as well?

From their website:
"The snow pack remains relatively deep and our plan is to remain open through Sunday April 20th"

So you mean, "only paying customers today."
I mean, there was no additional income for opening today, just losses. There was a few day tickets though, not literally "only" passholders, just the vast majority. . .

How do you figure losses? Did they give away season passes this year?

Just wait till a good chuck of those pass holders get their season pass somewhere else next season. How bout dem losses?
1000 season pass holders going somewhere else to ski next season is a MILLION DOLLAR LOSS!

Todays cost to operate exceeds that of todays income.
They only make money today, if they sell enough day tickets today to cover the cost of operating.
Seasons passes wre sold a long long time ago, and the money already gone into operating this season, and Skye Peak Express and so on....
They were going to close April 13. Staying open later didn't bring them more money from a pass they sold you 8 months ago.

Individual seaon pass revenue should be counted amongst the actual ski days by customers. If I ski Saturday/Sunday, I got 46 days at Killington, divide my pass cost by the number of ski days, and apply the amount to the days i was there.
Ur method of accounting suits ur needs and is not accurate.
