[quote="SkiDork"]There was a 5 y/o hopeful program last year - there's none this year?[/quote
The 5 y/o program is not shown on the Hopefuls page this year. It was last year.
Also, with it taking so long to post the programs, we decided already to stick with SR for the coming year.
Fortunately, being from NE Mass, we have a choice. With the kids being 5 this year, it seems we would have been SOL.
What program do they have for 4 and 5 y/o who ski black diamonds and the woods?

Send an e-mail to Matt Gnozza
mgnoza@killingtonmountainschool.org and ask him these questions. He runs the competitive programs but he'll probably be able to forward the question to Steve Finneran (who runs the hopefuls) if he doesn't know the answer.

Kids age 6 through 12. Minimum requirement is the be able to ride a lift. 16 Saturdays from 8:30 until 11:30. $749.00 if you buy before July 1st.
That's $46.82 for a 3-hour session. I presume they get their coaches from weekend warrior volunteers, give them a comp season pass, and pay them $10.00/hour. That's nuts for a program that should be run at break-even pricing to get kids hooked on the sport unless the group size is held to 2 or 3 kids. You cover your costs with one kid per coach.
The 1-day Hopefuls Program is the same price but that meets 22 days and it's a 6 hour day rather than a 3 hour day. That's a little better value but it's still really expensive given what you'd expect Killington would have for a cost structure for the program.
Geoff, I hear rumors there's a "Rick Torrey Early Bird Card". - $500, all you can molest season pass.
check it out, brutha.

Still not as competitive as other mountains' children programs but better than last year. Have the prices been determined yet for the Hopefuls and DEVO programs?
