Considering your location and the fact that you're into parks, I think Mount Snow is a no brainer.

I'm not all park though. I like to take 2 or 3 laps in the park for when I get bored. Any mountains park will do, as killington's did last year. I just like to have that option for when I get bored. I want to go to the mountain that will have the most steeps/moguls/powder without having to ski on an ice rink. Any other recommendations with this further information? The only thing at mt snow really is a few trails at the north face and bear trap.

If you're looking for steeps than Killington it is! As you know Mount Snow doesn't have much and you have already seen the map comparing the steepness of the terrain at Killington to Okemo.

Killington gets more powder than those two more southern ski areas, with its much higher elevation and being further north. It all depends on the weather of course, but K has lots of both manmade and natural trails that bump up every season. They aren't "seeded bumps" that you may find at Mount Snow or Okemo, but thats on only two or three trails. When Killington is fully open you can easily find 15+ trails with bumps on them.

so how far away is killington from amherst? google maps says 122 miles which would be a bit far to get rides to. will there be a ride share this year?

There is the "Carpool & Rideshare" forum here on KillingtonZone. Just about everyone here lives far away from Killington like you, so finding someone to carpool from near where you are isn't impossible. All depends on who participates.....


Yahoo maps says 109 miles, 2 hrs and 26 min.




I live 5 minutes from Killington so I dont know anything more than that. . . .


A Killington College Season Pass also includes Pico Mountain, which is a short shuttle ride away.
