Are you joking? I'd rather wait a day or week to ski Killington than Snow. How can any legitimate skier or boarder compare Snow to Killington. The terrain is not comparable

New season. New philosophy!
Killington is opening 2 weeks earlier with top to bottom.
Mt. Snow?

I think we'll get skiing into May this season unless the weather takes a drastic turn for the worse mid April. I hope all the Mt. NOSnow people enjoy their passes. I'll stick with the big K... :Toast :D

Why all the squabbling folks? It does not matter where you ski as long as you are skiing and enjoying yourself. Mt. Snow folks enjoy your turns on Saturday. It works out well for me that K is opening on Sunday as I could not have gone up tonight anyway. Let's all be happy that we can ski somewhere.

all I'm saying is I could actually SKI at mount snow today

Image

at Killington you had to be some high ranking propaganda official

if the mountain is closed for skiing and riding that should mean its closed for EVERYONE

then again I think that Cops/State Troopers should actually drive the speed limit if they don't have their lights/siren on and that elected officials should actually FOLLOW the laws so I guess I'm just an idealist

carry on with the bitch fest

Those who are b*&chin' about Mt. Snow......

1. A few years ago, K opened Halloween weekend 'cause of a snow storm but had to close for two weeks (?) was it 'cause of warm temps, however opened that Halloween weekend with more trails opened.
2. Mt. Snow is further south, however Kudos to Mt. Snow for opening a trail earlier, however my belief is that they just wanted to up one on K and from what I can tell, Snow didn't have has much snow as the Catskills... especially Plattekill which looks kind of Awesome.
3. Maybe I'm a fool for thinking this, but my thoughts is that K, wants to try to stay open.
4. K will have better terrain (and more trails) opened than Snow did on Sunday.

I do give Kudos for the powdr and the Mt. Ops (for their hard work) for doing what I've done. Hope they keep up the good work at the end of the season.

If I'm wrong on my points, I apologize in advance.

I'll be thinking of all you lucky folks on Sunday and each time I will, I'll whine and cry.

Just optimistic this year, that's all.

Yeah thats what you thought about this weekend, and you were WRONG, very wrong!
You act like opening 6 trails and 2 lifts is the second coming of Jesus.

Loser. Skiing is way better than a second coming of Jesus. :violin

Age is pretty apparent in this thread, this is all pretty much downright hilarious... Does anyone really think a mountain almost on the MA border and far lower in elevation could ever compete with Killington in terms of snowmaking windows? - let alone the water supply the Big K has. There also is no comparison in terms of terrain...

BUT, people hyped up Mount Snow because last year they opened with the best early terrain people have seen in the east in many years - against these odds, and also stayed open quite late. Are you really rubbing it in their face (and mine???) because Killington is actually going to open on November 2? Give me a break... Those of you that have skied Killington for 20 + years like myself know they should be open by now anyway. Get a grip and go ski and be happy someone is opening.
