Hold up, if what you want is long groomed cruisers... then certainly the alps provide longer cruisers for intermediates. Yes, if one is looking to combine a trip to other U.S. sites, then by all means consider a trip to vermont. Or, think about Whistler via Vancouver. But the fact remains that Killington still lacks a base village, lacks the veritcal drop and is considered by most east-coasters to be among the better mountains within driving range of Boston or New York, but no comparison in terms of the overall experience to the West or the Alps. I will say that it has an excellent teaching program for never-evers.
