I'd have to say replace the Snowdon Quad with a high speed quad... and in conjunction, do something with the trail routing to reduce some of the intersection clusterfu**s there.

I'm wondering too.... would one high speed quad exceed the lift capacity of the two snowdon lifts?

This morning the snowdown quad was one of the only lifts running early morning. If they replace it with a high speep lift then that will be down along with all the others and we will have nothing to ski.

The new Skye Peak Express was running at 8AM Sunday morning. It has been very reliable.

Why not the slowdon triple instead?

Mister Moose wrote:On the passholder survey, there is a question that implies what they are considering doing for capital improvements this summer and beyond, and are gathering input. The question is:

What improvements would you like to see at the resort? (list 2)

□ Replace the Snowdon quad
□ New Peak restaurant
□ New Day Lodges
□ Improved Snowmaking
□ More Grooming
□ Less Grooming
□ New Killington Village
□ Other ____________________

Interesting there are no other lifts mentioned. I say work on the peak, both a new lodge and a more viable early season lift solution.

Respectfully submitted,
Mister Moose, Sec'y, Save the Snowdon Quad Society
Instead of asking people to pick two improvements from the list, why not ask them to rank the improvements in priority order?!?!

Second, where is this survey and how does one take it? Is it for new purchases or existing passholders?

Third, I'm right there with you Secretary Moose. Leave the Snowdon Quad as is!

another vote for keeping the snowdon quad. spend the money on a new peak restaurant/keeping the WHOLE mountain open later in the spring...

Screw replacing the snowdon quad.

It will not only KILL that area of the mountain by increasing skier traffic, but it will also end up down for the count on bad weather days. That is one of the few lifts that can run in virtually any condition.

I like a classic lift every now and again anyways.

guess this is the lesser of two evils. the triple is the older lift and it is less desirable to lap the snowden trees from here. also since it more or less originates at kbl, there is a certain logic/symmetry to having all the hsq's starting from there.

another topic prompted this...

How about talking to Verizon about a repeater that boosts cell reception at Bear.
Lot of people comment about coverage from over there,

Snowdon Quad is a fine ride...leave it be !
Better to replace the south ridge chair stems before one of them snaps in half.
(only a matter of time at the 'Hey, look at the eagle!" corner)

I fully agree, replace the older triple, save the quad which can run on windy days. Does anybody know the age of these two lifts??
