Re: Sunday April 24 th
There has been plenty of parking at Bear for bmmc for the past several years except last season because of snoe.down which was moved to a different weekend, soooo there doesn't appear to be a parking/transportation issue that would be improved by keeping Skyeship base open.Dr. NO wrote:When will they learn to leave the skyeship open at least to Mogul Challenged? They need an easy way for parking and transportation and that is it.spanky wrote:Rams Head (lift and lodge), Skyeship (both stages), Snowdon Triple and the Peak Lodge are all "scheduled" to close this Sunday. I hope not.

A planned closing on April 24th (Easter Sunday) would be so irresponsible from the standpoint of the customer after last year's fiasco it's unbelievable. We are at K for the long season. Without a significantly longer season (early and late) Killington really does not stack up against the Mad River valley. I'm glad we rent not own. Easy to pull up stakes and move if we get fed up.

Well what you say may well be true but you aren't really comparing K to MRG.
Kinda like comparing apples and ducks.

Re: Sunday April 24 th
Mayday! Mayday! Plan going down in flames!!!!!!
I have been planning on ending my season Sunday May 1st since I filled out my committment schedule last November.
A follow up weekend to a two to four day trip of Stowe and/or Jay Peak and/or Sugarbush the midweek before Easter.
Now it looks like we end our season somewhere other than K.
Any reprints of the Killington Refugee T-Shirts????????

Re: Sunday April 24 th
I don't think you get it. I'm not comparing mad river glen to Killington. I am considering moving from Killington/Pico to Sugarbush/MRG because the terrain is better, the place is better and the season length is so similar that Killington no longer has any advantage. Since we rent in Killington for the season we could move to Warren/waitsfield fairly easily. The length of the season and in particular spring skiing is so important to us that we have chosen to ski at Killington. If the season is shortened to end in Mid-April than Killington is no longer as appealing. We might as well move up to the Mad River Valley where we could ski Sugarbush/MRG locally and drive to Stowe/Bolton Valley very easily on any given day. We will see what happens this year and based on that make a decision regarding the 2012-13 season when we were thinking of possibly buying a place. It seems pretty short sighted when they might be building a village to make the place less desirable by shortening the season when that was the main competitive advantage they had. If we buy a place it's not going to be in a place that closes early.SnoBrdr wrote:Skivt2 wrote:A planned closing on April 24th (Easter Sunday) would be so irresponsible from the standpoint of the customer after last year's fiasco it's unbelievable.
