For the family, I try not to spend more than $200 per person per ski day. That is only for lodging and lift tickets, and, sadly, only for holiday weeks and weekends. I could bring that number way down if I could get out mid-week. This sends the family significantly over $10k for the year.

That was easy, I had a beer for lunch. More like 22 to 25 weeks, November 15 to May 1 or so. That brings the gas down a bit, but the house and other costs, pass, class, gear etc. are still the same. Nearly 3K for heat this season and don't want to think about next.Big Bob wrote:How did you come up with a 47 week winter season? (I do like your season length however!)Dr. NO wrote:Since we have different schedule, Frau Sehr and I take separate vehicles and that is at least $200 / week over about about 47 weeks. Add in passes, class, equipment that is necessary and must be renewed or replaced, House expenses and such and we are well over the 10K mark for the winter. Don't even want to think about summer.
BTW, have rooms for lease for next season near Rutland Airport to offset costs.

Re: What's your total cost for a season of skiing/boarding.
This year about 10K for me and my son. I did not include food. Last year was probably closer to 15K, due to my son on the slopes 150 plus days, busting and wearing out 5 snowboards wearing out 2 pair of boots, shredding clothing in the trees, and competition fees and travel.
Good thing the kid is living in the city and only been on the slopes 44 days this year. Thankyou Barnibus, you saved me 5K this year by slacking on slope time.

$1500 house
$700 pass
$500 Sundown pass, throw in $250 for gas as well
$50/week x 20 weeks = $1K - gas
$75/week x15 weeks = $1125 - booze
~$1K/year - equipment
$1.2K - Colorado
$4K - Whistler
$11K. Sundown gets knocked off next year.

I dunno, I'm thinking you should spend at least as much on equipment as you do on booze.mondeo wrote:$1500 house
