On week days when crowds are light
On week ends down low if at all
On the lift if there's no conversation
I have the thumbwheel on the cord volume control, so I can always turn it down easily.

I still can hear pretty well. Not only do I keep it at a moderate level, but there are infinite breaks in the music... If there's some yelling or loud scraping behind me, it always comes through between the notes.

I rarely have music on during the weekend, and never during WROD insanity days.

I do wonder about the folks whose earbuds are so loud I can tell what song it is while in the gondola with them.
What? What did you say?
I had a hilarious experience on the bear quad. A middle aged guy was riding single with me and my fiance and had his ear buds in. He had the most god awful singing voice I have ever heard. He was squeaking in a falsetto and I was amazed that the human vocal cords could produce those noises. Anyway, my fiance and I couldn't identify the song, which apparently he didn't know any of the words to, until it came to the hook. Umbrella by Rihanna. We started cracking up. It was the worst rendition of any song that i have ever heard. He was in his own world. Never once looked at us. Star in his own mind. Haha.

Who needs all those gizmos. Just start singing "It's a Small World" and you'll have a song in your head all day! :bang

My Dad uses "The Lion Sleeps Tonight". It's funny because he turns to the beat of the song.

Ooh, I like it! I'd be up for that. The winter compliment to Cooler in the Mountains?

Music Rocks ! It adds whatever music style you desire to any descent you would dare.
It is preferable to some of the alternative sounds ... snowboarders on boilerplate, or blue collar language in the liftline. Total bogus !

Earbuds work OK, but we prefer ipod plugged to a portable speaker system worn under parka. This works for all when your playlist is envious. Best of both worlds...ambient noise from 'brothers in arms', and boosted volume blowing by all the gapers that belong at Okemo.

It is hilarious to observe many folk with buds on that can't sync their turns to any song at any tempo.

Outer Limits non-stop on 'What is Hip' is pure.

wait so you wear speakers?

i guess I could rig something like that up in my ski pack, but the extra weight seems unnecesary.

Speakers are the size of a wallet with a mini-phone jack connector.
No, it's not as high-fidelity as the Wobbly, but it works fine for us.

I have seen/heard on more than one occasion, people wearing a backpack with music emanating from it.
That, to me would seem combersome, unless there's 'other stuff' stowed in that back pack :Toast

Love hopping on the gangala, ripping a big fatty, then cranking up some killer jams on my Skullcandy equiped Smith helmet, and then shredding the mountain . . . . Good times . . . nothing like poaching Lower O with Possum cranking in my headset . . .
