The ground the radio towers sit on is lower than the peak.

Yes, by a few feet. I think the rock slabs to the right of the tower are the actual peak. I believe that the top of that rock (to your right if you're looking towards Coopers from the peak) is 4241.35 feet.

Exactly. I believe that rock (or just to its right) is Killington Peak.

Now that the Junior/Geoff conspiracy in the Rick Torrey thread has died down, a new conspiracy has emerged. Some sources say Killington Peak is 4235 feet. Others say it is 4241. The difference is 6 feet. Both Geoff and Junior are about 6 feet tall. Coincidence?

The difference is the 6% tax

Well that site is useless as there is not Geographic Skye Peak. On the Topo map the true Bear Mountain is where the top of the Skye peak area is and Bear Mountain is only a shoulder leading to Killington Peak.

I'm sticking with 4241 being the correct elevation. It's Sushi Yoshi's phone number - 422-4241 - so it's easy to remember.

The weather sites say 4235. The magazine says 4241. Sorry Junior, but this goes far beyond just you and Atomic1!

How the hell do they not know how high their mountain is. If you go to the true peak or highest point there will be a marker that is a copper disk nailed to a rock this will tell you the height. I forgot what they are called but It was measured by the Parks department I believe.
P.S. I also hike so we use these all the time to see elevation since I don't have a GPS.
