They plan on going as long as it takes to get the depths they want and based on forecasted wet bulb it will likely take more than 1 round. The next being following the possible "event" next week if the temps come down again. Still a lot of snow required there.

It's good news that they plan on going as long as it takes. They've never made snow in April in the modern era.

No but last year they made snow right up into the morning of April 1 so it's not unprecedented. Assuming temps cooperate.

guns are now on on upper superstar. my snowmaker friend said they'll try to run through tuesday and then that's it. after that the weather doesn't really support any more snowmaking. we'll see ...

Yeah that long range is no bueno. I guess we'll see where they end up Tuesday but based on the wet bulbs I see at night, I don't think the spine will be the usual this year. They need singles.

Guns where running a little wet early afternoon on my last trip down around 1:30 or so. Proably run another 24 hours if the temps hold would be my guess.

yeah even a bit wet in the morning. like i said in my report some goggle scraping required on the lift ride back up.

if they can make it through tomorrow, then perhaps they can get another overnight in. when i spoke to my snowmaker friend friday, he said tuesday would be it.

If that's the end it's gonna be a "short" spring on SS IMHO. That's ok, Ill take the runs they did after many year hiatuses this year over more snow on one trail.

Yeah - Mike spoke at KSC on Saturday and said this was the final push, they’ll pound superstar as long as they can this week and that’s it.

If I remember correctly, you were the one who was complaining that they were making snow there in February. Seems like it was a good idea to do that or they would've been in for a Nyberg-era closing date.

This is another reason why they sorely need more pumping capacity. You're not always going to get temps conducive to building a June depth glacier in March, and being able to complete it earlier without impacting other terrain would be highly beneficial.

Top and middle depths seem healthy, it's Preston's and more so the very bottom that seem low in snow depth. The fan gun at the bottom is usually buried, not this season.

Yes I was, and I am glad it only went as long as it did so the other terrain could get the hours as well. Can't cover it all based on what they can put down.
