I had the EXACT opposite experience the one time I tried it! What is normally adrenaline became fear! Everyone that I normally leave in the dust, etc. Although there was this untracked powder run that was like being in another world......Stormchaser wrote:Skibumtress wrote:Only if it'll make me ski better.
It makes me ski better...dont ask me why, but I get this strange focus accompanied by an adrenaline rush that kicks me into overdrive. It seems I can do things on skis that I can't otherwise. No rubberlegs, no steeps too steep, no bumps too big. Somehow it converts that little bit of fear, into adrenaline. And all the people I'm skiing with are left in the dust, except for maybe KV, who manages to keep up alright.

Decline but post no opposition provided my daughter wasn't present. Son's been to concerts before and is familiar with the odor......
Brings up a question. Was on the K1 2 weekends ago and some guy gets on and asks if I'm a cop. I respond in the negative and he asks if I mind that he lights up. I didn't, but it got me to wondering exactly why he bothered to ask the question. Even if I was a cop, I don't think I can arrest him unless I'm a Vermont cop (not sure about that but will ask my brother the retired NYC cop), but assuming I could, what's to stop me, other than killing my ski day, from answering no (I mean really why else would the guy ask??) and then just arresting him when he lit up.

You see that on TV all the time, I think police must identify themselves if asked. Even if you're an out of state cop, they can probably still do a citizen's arrest until the local dept gets there. Cops technically are never off duty.BigKahuna13 wrote:Brings up a question. Was on the K1 2 weekends ago and some guy gets on and asks if I'm a cop. Mmmmmm, sidecountry....
Most cops I hang with will look the other way when someone lights up..Mtn Man wrote:You see that on TV all the time, I think police must identify themselves if asked. Na, couldn't do it. I need to be sober when I ski... I'm a danger to my own self as it is....

I had one beer once at lunch time......never again! I'll wait until Happy Hour.

Who cares the way you look??? All that matters is the way you feel...Pedro wrote:Maybe you should have someone film you when you do this, you might just think your skiing betterStormchaser wrote:Skibumtress wrote:Only if it'll make me ski better.

parking each month (it's not a quota, it's a goal). The other was having to hassle people, who were otherwise doing nothing wrong, for smoking pot.

Actually, turns out that's a myth, cops are under no obligation to identify themselves as such. There is no jurisdiction in Vermont, so any Vermont cop could arrest you, and if I remember my brother telling me correctly, cops are obligated to at least report a violation of the law, regardless of jurisdiction. I think they have to have some sort of agreement or special invitation to actually make an arrest on their own, though.Mtn Man wrote:You see that on TV all the time, I think police must identify themselves if asked. Two sniffs, a snort, a fly, a turn and a grunt; and it was so simple like the jitterbug it plumb evaded me.
Actually thought this post was "Smoke or Coke"
I was going to vote Smoke, but since you asked i would decline.
Did get an offer at 9 AM on Friday thought, they guy wipped out this huge doob and smoked the whole thing,,, i believe I did get a contact buzz, but that may have been the lack of O2 in the Gondi
