The gang was not happy that the blue bubble was not in service for the cup last year.
Does anyone thinks they were going to miss that marketing opportunity this year?

Superstar continues to get hammered like a wanna be frat boy on Prom Night, adjacent to it Lower Skyelark also under the guns. Snowdon has its own man-made, Killington Cloud; Mouse Run, Upper Bunny under seige, Mousetrap open and continuing to see guns. Lower Chute has now been seeing snow making for at least 30 hours. What's going on at Snowdon is complete Armageddon.

Re: Expansion 2019-2020
From this afternoons report:
After a couple days of heavy snowmaking production, Upper Mouse Run and Killink are ready to open Friday morning, and Upper Bunny Buster won’t be far behind. We’ll add a third lift to the list on Friday too, with the Snowdon Triple, and a fourth for Saturday morning, when we plan to have the Snowdon Six Express spinning.
I was going to head up tomorrow to avoid the Friday is the new Saturday crowd but I may be a day early for the additional terrain and lift, Oh well...

Re: Expansion 2019-2020
The report says "as they branch out to Snowdon and Ramshead". Not sure where they'd be making snow on Ramshead as nothing on the trail report is listed as snowmaking. I do believe that with Great Northern now connected into Caper, that's going to be sooner than later on the priority list. Possibly before Canyon.
Re: Expansion 2019-2020
Given the parking limitations at KBL this year, I have to imagine they would want at a minimum GN down to RH for a return and Caper/GN in from RH to utilize parking at RH and even Snowshed more effectively this year.snoloco wrote:The report says "as they branch out to Snowdon and Ramshead". Re: Expansion 2019-2020
If we get another cold stretch like this it would be nice to utilize the bear parking lot for skiers during the world cup. A route back to bear then the bear chair to Southridge gives you the mountain and a big parking lot.
Re: Expansion 2019-2020
That would never happen. The Caper-Great Northern loop really needs to happen in time.
Re: Expansion 2019-2020
I think it's just about taking advantage of colder temps at the lower elevations right now. They are going to really need the Rams Head lodge and trails for Thanksgiving, so if the opportunity is here then take advantage of it. Actually cheaper to blow a base now versus struggling another time when temps might be marginal.

whatever, i have my name multiple times on that poster of the 100 days club by guest services (and not for just swiping and going to the bar like many listed on there) so i really dont give a f***.
Re: Expansion 2019-2020
read your pass again. DOWNHILL SKIER/RIDER HAS THE RIGHT OF WAY. it couldnt be any f*** clearer on the back.I'm not sure that means what you think it does...(DOWNHILL SKIER/RIDER HAS THE RIGHT OF WAY)
let's take a look at how that "right of way" worked out for you...
doesn't seem like the rule gave two sh!ts about your right of way...ive suffered serious injuries as the result of being collided into by both skiers and snowboarders through no fault of my own and have a case of PTSD as a result.
ultimately you are responsible for your own safety regardless of how you interpret the rules...
as for my incidents -
most serious injury was attained in an unfortunate friendly fire incident in the terrain park at another mountain many years ago. i hit a feature, fell, couldnt get up due to being injured, friend didnt know i was still in the landing, went, and landed on me. poor friend thought they killed me as i was unresponsive for about 5 mins and was taken down in a sled, transferred to an ambulance and then driven a ways to the hospital. i suffered some life long brain damage as a result (helmet saved me) and have almost no memory of that trip or the months after it.
less serious but very scary was when i, a goofy foot rider, was riding along the left side of a trail at another mountain a few years ago when a regular foot rider came up from behind faster on my right (thus making us back to back), cut across the trail to hit a left side hit, and sent me into the snowmaking gun at full speed. the worst part about this was that they knew they hit me, and they didnt stop to see if i was OK which is f*** up (and possibly illegal? hit and run? wasnt in VT). i bruised my thigh pretty bad but was lucky not to break my leg and i had my first ever shot ski in the bar following (and proceeded to fail miserably at it getting the liquor everywhere but my mouth).
last year, while working, i got hit by an out of control beginner who was in a ski lesson and their instructor was an idiot (i fault the instructor and not the student), merging onto the most beginner of beginner trails with too much speed for a low-skilled group. the spot that i got hit at is a known problem area, it has been brought to management's attention multiple times and hopefully this year they fence it in better. i wasnt even on my board when i got hit and ironically, i gave a whole spiel an hour before about how helmets save lives and it doesnt matter how good you are, you can always get hit from behind by someone out of control.
theres nothing to be responsible about here. i got hit when i was already down. i got hit by someone not paying attention. i got hit by a complete beginner skiing above their ability level with an idiot instructor. obviously skiing/riding is inherently risky. my riding (with the exception of hitting a feature and falling, which is a given in a terrain park) wasnt the problem.
