Try feeding a family of four, paying the mortgage, taxes, and utilities, and putting gas in a car off a friggin' Walmart job, a McDonalds job, or a Killington job.

I wasn't saying, there thousands of different types of jobs needing workers, I was saying that, "shortage of people to fill available positions" each position, is a job available right now...

So the above is probably at least 150-200 jobs alone...

Uhh, no, just those 175 different jobs/workplaces you talked about made up over a thousand jobs. Then add hundreds upon hundreds of jobs available not in the Rutland Herald/Monster....

Listen SUCKING SLOW there are not THOUSANDS of jobs in the area that employers cannot fill... If K needed people, theyre out there. I dont think the unemployment rate has quite hit zero yet in rutland.

On some level, I think you may be right tho. I think POWDR has pissed off so many locals, that people dont really want to work for them. I mean how could you SWALLOW your pride after they sh*t canned all your friends and family, to go run a lift for a few weeks. You'd have no respect in your community. Just imagine how much better things would be if POWDR just tried playing along with the rest of the folks that have a stake in this town.

Thats finger lickin' good!!!

There are thousands of positions currently available from Rutland to Hanover, to points north and south within 20 miles. . .

Those people got damn fine severance packages... And offered seasonal jobs at Killington... Not trying to make it sound ok, but. . . .

Actually, the unemployment rate in RutVegas is pretty damned low. It's around 5% for white males though it's been slowly climbing over the last year.

If you are an employer with nothing but crap low-paying jobs to offer, you'll have a tough time filling them.

Instead of spending $8.4 million in improvements this summer, how about spending $8.3 million and extend the season into May. I'm sure the 95% of the people you talk about wouldn't mind Powdr diverting a meager 1.2% of planned expenditures to keep the other faithful 5% happy. Who knows, some of those 95% might even show up.

Well, you could have said the same thing about them opening a week late. Just open a week earlier its only $15,000 less profit...

Just Keep Skyeship open 7 days, its only another $35,000 less profits....

Just Keep Pico open 7 days, its only another $60,000 in less profits...

Lets have every base serve food daily! Its only another $20,000 less in profits...

Lets double the snowmaking staff, the grooming staff, and all other mtn ops people, to keep everything in tip top shape, and be 100% open right after ice events! Its only $35,000 in less profits...

...Poeple wont mind the missing money for Improvements, people would rather just get a fixed bathroom then a new high speed quad and more snowguns...

you have absolutely no idea how much it costs to run anything up there. none what so ever...

and just to let you know, solitude out in UT is putting in 2 quads this summer at 8.1 mil along with a few other things. 8.4 for a new quad and some other sh*t doesnt exactly add up...

This is either frustrating, or entertaining.
I haven't figured at which yet!

The focus group thingy Bubba did, said a new Skye Peak Quad would cost around $5.1 Million. It travels just under a mile, and has around 20 towers, and over 200 chairs right now...

do we really need a new quad? you really want a colder faster lift ride? you like sitting on the rams head chair when temps are sub zero and your hauling ass up the hill into the wind...feels good doesnt it?

dont go throwing figures around, when you have nothing to back it up...
