Just thinking... To bad the pipe is not located over on the Superstar trail pod. Build the jumps on middle Superstar, you will have lots of snow for late season without killing the budget.

I'm only really concerned about them not increasing the snowmaking budget accordingly for the event, or a really badly timed warmup leading to event > normal skiing conditions for the week or two beforehand in snowmaking. The only other issue I see is if the SPQ isn't fully accessible during the event, they really ought to budget for running the SRT to give us a way out of bear.

This doesn't make any sense. Killington has blown snow for a half pipe and all those big features in past years. This isn't blowing any extra snow. The new lift is 100% accessable. POWDR runs the Southridge Triple on weekends as long as there's snow but it's still not utilized very much. People would rather wait in a 20 minute line to ride a high speed lift.

If you're going to sacrifice a slice of Killington for the new schoolers, I have no problem with using Bear. It keeps them away from the parts of the mountain that get more snow and less sun exposure.

One of Killington's problems is that they open the Half-pipe so late. Late January is pretty typical for the last few years, so as far as that goes, not much impact. They'd be better off opening a small pipe pre-Christmas, and then opening the big one when they can. The problem is that they really don't have an area that was designed from the ground up for a park, and it shows. I expect that's on the drawing boards.

There's a huge difference between Mt Snow and Killington vis-a-vis snow making. Mt. Snow is seriously water limited; Killington does not have that issue. Last year was a bit of anomaly; cold temps arrived late. It was impressive how they made up the delay: they were caught up by Christmas. If they have the same situation this year, yeah, they may have a problem, but they continue to pour money into that aspect of the operation. I have a lot of issues with POWDR, but not the snowmaking. How any reasonable person can complain about that is beyond me. However, its apparent there are plenty of unreasonable people on Kzone. Really! I'm excited about this. It's a big event; I get plenty of skiing in; but I didn't come to Killington just for the skiing; I came for the energy of the place. Nice to see that coming back.

I have no problem with the event. Not much going on that time of the season anyway so it should bring in a good amount of business. I will be checking it out also. Should be a fun weekend. Very very little impact on my riding season. Like Bubba said, maybe it will get Bear open earlier in Dec. Even a couple days earlier would be a big plus to us as we usually come up a lot in Dec.
As far as snowmaking, Killington's worst season they only used 5% of the water they were allowed to extract from Woodward. Nobody comes close or ever will come close to them for that. Their problem is converting that into snow which they've been upgrading and replacing those crumbling, ancient and ineffecient pieces the last few seasons extremely well. Did a great job at Pico last season. Upper Pike was in great shape...
