Exactly. They were built into the cost of your pass.daytripper wrote: ↑Aug 13th, '24, 09:07Didn't you get some with your season pass purchase? Not truly free since you had to pay for the pass but they were a pass incentive.Bubba wrote: ↑Aug 13th, '24, 08:47easyrider16 wrote: ↑Aug 13th, '24, 07:20I believe you vastly underestimate the capacity of this forum to generate complaints from any perceived or actual shortcoming, no matter how minor. If Killington handed out free money, people on this forum would find a way to complain about it. Oh wait, they did - when they complained about beast bucks.jimmywilson69 wrote: ↑Aug 12th, '24, 13:53 A huge investment in snowmaking would make drastic reduction to most of the complaining on this forum.
Beast Bucks weren’t free. They were merely pre-paid bar tabs. Not complaining about them, of course…![]()

Is Killington for sale?
I got stuck on the K1 one morning for 45 minutes. They gave me 25 Beast Bucks.
Those were the days.

Re: Is Killington for sale?
Some claim the sale has already taken place. if so, wouldn't the sale have been recorded at the registry of deeds or whatever it is called in VT?

Re: Is Killington for sale?
If there’s an actual sale that has been agreed to then it would be somewhere between the stages of letter-of-intent and purchase-and-sale-agreement.
Once the P&S is signed, then most legal disclosures begin (starting with the announcement of the intended sale) as the buyer and seller progress toward closing the acquisition.
If the buyer is one of the big three, then antitrust review would probably be required before the sale could close.
The registry of deeds would apply only to any exchange of real estate and would come much later if and when a company sale actually closed.
(And I’d contend that the M.O.S.W. is more likely to handle the antitrust reviews….)

If what you want to see is capex focused on lifts and snowmaking, wouldn't Great Gulf be the worst case scenario? Wouldn't it mean all of their focus will be on the village and the other real estate related additions?
I keep hearing that it's Great Gulf.

If they are selling the real estate thought they are selling the whole experience of the mountain as the broader product. Having the Skyeship as a complete bucket of bolts that breaks down constantly isn't going to help sell million dollar condos.Southside_Bobby wrote: ↑Aug 15th, '24, 09:48 If what you want to see is capex focused on lifts and snowmaking, wouldn't Great Gulf be the worst case scenario? Re: Is Killington for sale?
I thought for sure that we would see a big announcement regarding major on-mountain improvements, possibly even including the interconnect, to coincide with the village announcement. Might still happen to some extent, but the fact that they are to different entities makes that a lot less likely. With respect to the interconnect, most people here don’t want it but I’m sure Great Gulf would love it. That would be the biggest eastern ski area news in a very long time and would create a major buzz. I give it about a 5% chance of happening under Powdr which lends some slight credence to Great Gulf buying Killington...if it's even for sale which I doubt.Mistergiff wrote: ↑Aug 15th, '24, 10:06If they are selling the real estate thought they are selling the whole experience of the mountain as the broader product. Don't fly Mr. Bluebird, I'm just walking down the road......
Re: Is Killington for sale?
Great Gulf is not buying Killington
Re: Is Killington for sale?
Rumor down here is that Yawgoo Valley has almost completed the acquisition. We expect the passes to have reciprocal benefits so that any Yawgoo passholder can ski Killington and any Killington/Pico passholder will get access to Yawgoo (with blackout dates).
Re: Is Killington for sale?
The way your replying makes you sound like a troll. Just tell us who it is without beating around the bush, what is the point of this guessing game? But fine I'll play, is it Pacific Group Resorts? Cause there's not really much obvious options left unless it's some rando rich guy
Re: Is Killington for sale?
Well, the thirteen years I've been lurking on this forum have taught me that light "trolling" like this is actually pretty tame, so...
Seriously though, I obviously don't want to risk overstepping. I'm just excited- I've been coming to this mountain for over 30 years, and the prospect of reversing the trend of what's felt like years of decline and lack of investment... It feels like the start of a new era!
