I think this is the first time since it was built back in 1980 that it was evacuated. It made national news on ABC.

What would be better for theinterconnect? two trail pods or a gondola that runs between the two? Biggest problem I see with trail pods is more lifts and snowmaking. With a gondola, no snowmaking would be needed and would be cheaper after a short period of time

I sure hope the Ubar can hold the entire World Cup crowd, press, athletes and sponsors, because otherwise they are going to get an eyeful of KBL that is in need of a re-hab, far more needed than a Gondola to Pico.

The other thing Killington needs is more blue square terrain. Double blacks are the sizzle, blue squares are the money.

Aren't they moving the small Ubar down to Snowshed this summer? That will create a lot more deck space if they do. Just hope it's not to cold out. KBL was built in the summer of 59, Mahogony Ridge added later, damn straight it could use a re-hab. I don't think they'll be doing anything to KBL though until they start the village.

As for adding blue squares I know you won't like my ideas. I don't even like most of my ideas. This one I like though & I think it would be fairly easy to do. Add snowmaking & groom the Chunnel giving intermediate access to Needles Eye. It's only Panic Button that keeps middle/lower Needles from being a nice blue cruiser. Heck even upper Needles would be a nice blue cruiser with snowmaking, grooming & a little regrading near the bottom of the upper section. These ideas I don't like but it most certainly would add more blue cruising terrain. Add snowmaking & groom North Star & Great Bear. Yes these are two of my favorite natural snow trails but if groomed with snowmaking would make nice blue cruisers. Doing these things would add a sizable chunk of blue cruising terrain.
