I would like to see a concrete plan that they have for the resort. What Lifts, Buildings will be replaced, repaired or built.. Is that to much to ask for?

SPQ to a HSQ is next, but expect lots of wind holds.
I don't care about the rest and leave Snowdon alone.
I've been up at the top of Rams

I don't want it back, its just brutal up there, I wasn't there for when there was a lift but judging how bad the wind was up there the couple of times I've hiked it, I can't imagine sitting on a lift into that headwind

eek
It's too bad you never caught a top to bottom run on Vagabond early in the morning back then, glorious.

It was a short discomfort on the chair ride at the peak. The wind wouldn't really hit you until where you see the top of Header now, almost at the
end of the ride, kind of like the gusts at the end of the Bear Mtn. Quad, same stripped surface too.

I think we need Nivis the snow bear or whatever it was back. I actually think that type of branding is pretty low cost and would be cheaper than improving snowmaking, grooming and the lift system.

They could also incorporate the Nivis theme throughout the village. I cant remember was it a white polar bear or some mythical creature. If it were a bear it would work out better..... lets pretend its a bear.

You could have Bare Necessities (store with ...well you know), Bear Asses (this would be the village strip club) very much needed to give charm to the new village, Hungry as a Bear (food and drink) Bear Nakeds (another strip club) because you can never have enough, the Bear Den a place for the kids to hang out because for gosh sakes its a family mountain, and the hibernation place - hotel.

This is a big improvement and you just know they have some old Nivis nonsense laying around, and it works with the whole village theme.

I'm sorry, but that is NOT the immage POWDR wants us to percieve for Killington. More like a big ole kitty cat or little kitten to make everyone feel better and want to ski the groomers.

I like a limited version of HS's #1 and rogman's ideas

can you start off by cutting a traverse between RH and Pico , then use surface lifts and/or groomer rides to move people between areas ...this would integrate the sites a bit more

Ideally, I'd like a few trails cut to drop down to access road level and then catch a bus or some other transport to continue my adventure...

this setup might be a bit like Powder Mountain has, their lift system is sort of secondary to wacky traverses , runouts and an area called "Powder Country" where a bus picks you up at roadside and transports you back to a base area...you can have a great day there w/o ever riding a conventional lift

so the interconnect area would begin its development as sort of Killington "backcountry" akin to "Powder Country"/Powder Mt-like

POWDR will do whatever POWDR deigns to do, Highwaystar notwithstanding.

If POWDR were to create a small rubber room with a dozen keyboards and monitors, all fired up but with no actual Internet connection, and put Highwaystar into said room, and neglect to put a knob on his side of the door, that'd be a reasonable Year 2 Cap-X s'far as I'm concerned.

Okay. I like HS's idea a lot, but it's pretty unrealistic in my opinion. (Not that it couldn't be done, but they won't do it).

Mine is a bit shorter and cheaper:

1. Top priority: snowmaking.

Every pipe on the mountain should be operational, and every hydrant should be working. (That includes Valley Plunge, and Lower Pipe Dream.)

Replace/modify the guns on SS to whatever the most efficient ones out there are. I'd suggest fan guns, as they're a good balance of output and efficiency, and aren't too bad to ski through.

More fan guns in the base areas on permanant mounts. (should already have electric there as well), maybe start putting them on the wider/high traffic runs. Automating the new installs would be a great idea, since they'll be what you want to run often.

3 or 4 at Rams Head, Bear, KBL and Snowshed, along with 1 or 2 down at Skyeship Base, would be a great start.

2. Lifts.

Rip the DF chair out. (Not necessarily this year)
Any lifts that still need painting, paint.
Give us a timeline on the replacement of the Snowdon lift(s)/Skye Peak Quad.

3. Other

Make it to May 1st or later. Two more weeks of possible losses are worth it. Some suggestions for making it more profitable/less of a drain:

-May 1st slalom/competition/whatever.
-Grill on the deck.
-Make a late season park on part of the trail, schedule a competition or two. This will also let you plow it out later to fill in bare spots and such if needed.

Commit to doing the interconnect as part of the village plan. Maybe start cutting trails if sufficient permitting is there. It would go a LONG way toward getting that village approved, especially if they were willing to make it required to be done in concrete phases along with the real estate.

Stop being idiots and give us a real, honest vision of what you're planning to do and how you're going to do it. Nothing you could do is worse than what we'll be speculating about.

How about re-thinking the kids programs? They are missing out on dollars with their current pricing. My grand kids will be using the local hill's programs to learn and that means less time and dollars spent at and around K. For me, that's three little ones they have eliminated fron their cash flow.

Oh, I forgot, they don't give a rats a#& about their future like some of the real big boys do.

This would be so easy, and would be great for marketing . . . beginning of May, rather than mid-April makes the season sound so much longer . . . and it would only be a two week difference - come on Powdr - do it!!

I totally agree, but reality tells me to get some snowshoes for hiking.
OR will they not let hiking in the spring too?

Week ends only after April 14. Figure out how, and do it.

So, spring skiing is still important to people?

Are you listening Tom and Dave? Chris?
