2/23/09 Monday Report-so what's going on?

Try vimeo it's better quality and faster uploads vs YouTube. Plus I've yet to be repremanded for using music that I actually PURCHASED in my HOME VIDEO

I don't know where these bozos from music companies get off telling me that putting a 5 minute clip of minianimal skiing with background music represents a violation of "fair use"

I'm going the computer geek route. I have the ID3 spec open in my browser and I pulled down a "Free Hex Editor" to patch the ID3 headers on MP3 files. I'm going to see if that works.

I'm just going to patch whenever I see something that looks like YouTube or FaceBook will be parsing it. The ID3 header on MP3 files ain't eggsactly complicated.

Form what I heard, they actually parse the audio to see if it matches a database of music they reject.

We'll see what happens after I patch the ID3 header.

Geoff, once you use a video editor to add music to your video, do the ID3 tags still show up for each song within that video? I'm looking at one that I created last night and I don't see any tags for the individual songs anywhere, unless I'm missing something?

It's easy enough to defeat that. Don't start at the beginning of the audio track and do enough voice-over to confuse the analysis software.

Hopefully this works. Trying to x-post from TGR but I'm getting a red x issue over there.

Killington was just incredible this weekend. Saturday we found a lot of deep pow in some undisclosed areas. Ran into Slope-a-dopers in there with his crew. We even had the sun break out once or twice.

Sunday we almost went down to Magic, but changed our minds at the last minute and hit more trees at Kmart all day.

But Monday was the day. I would put it in the same league as Dec. 20-22. Saw the same pair of Bro 183s I saw in the woods on Sat. and called out. Turned out to be Slope-a-dopers and he tagged along with us for a few runs. Words don't describe it well so here are some photos:
